Is this normal? Looks like oil spray all over transmission mount.
 

I recently installed the Whiteline transmission mount insert and noticed what looks like oil spray all over the transmission tunnel. Is this normal?

Looks like undercoating or road tar to me. Not oil

All the pics I see online of the area around the transmission mount look cleaner for some reason.

Do you have anymore pictures? That is an odd place to have anything.

I will get some more in a few days when I have a chance to get under the car.

Yea, it isn't normal looking.

It looks like a high pressure splatter, and it appears to be coming from up high based on the spray pattern. It doesn't appear to be in a position that would be connected to the front tires. It looks like paint or sealant that someone sprayed or something odd happened like tar exploded under the car.

Whats it taste like?
