86 Black Limited

To those of you familiar with the original AE86, you know that Toyota built a special limited run of 400 cars called the Black Limited to commemorate the end of production.

This year at the Tokyo Auto Salon, Toyota had an original Black Limited 86 in their booth.

Many AE86 enthusiasts loved the fact it was there and thought that it meant that Toyota was going to start building parts for our cars again like they are with the Supra. However, it the real reason it was there was parked next to it.

A Black Limited concept for the the modern 86. It appears to be basically a JDM Hakone with black paint and black interior, but what it signifies is possible confirmation that production of the first gen 86 is coming to an end, and the 2nd gen should be on the horizon soon. With Toyota drawing heavily on the spirit of the original Hachiroku, it makes sense they would send it off the same way as the AE86.

Modern version needs modern redlines lol

If it's to mark the end of production, why would there be a 2nd gen?

It's to mark the end of production for the first generation.

Toyota continued making Sprinter Truenos and Corolla Levins for several generations after the AE86.

Meh.

No pinstripe.
Wrong style wheels.

It's just a black car that they'll charge more for.

So it's a regular black Toyota 86 Kouki with:
-Recolored gold rims
-gold stitched dash panel

Now that's just lazy

Looks like it has black instead of silver trim as well?

But yeah...

Didn't say I thought they were bad just that it is the pattern. I would probably have a Hakone this very minute if I could have got a MT.

Quality control of Hakone ver was very disappointing. Also they should of added PP goodies into Hakone, but nope...

I do like the exterior color

I don't care about PP and I am sure the quality was fine for my use since it would get beat to death anyway. I would not compromise for the AT though.
