I should've also purchased the +22 but i slept lol. Never parting ways as the wheels are going down with me . I am running them on 265's squared

You have great taste in wheels! :w00t:

UPDATE

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Got some exciting goodies that I've finally pulled the trigger on and one of them I've been looking for the longest time! :happyanim:

TRD Semi Bucket Seat w/ TRD Seat Rail (LHD)

This thing is soooo mint!
Been searching for this seat for 7+ years and finally decided to pull the trigger on it.
I recently got a promotion in my career and wanted to get a little something to celebrate.
To be frank, it was quite a pretty penny to get this, especially the shipping costs from
Japan, but some life events happened that made me realize life is too short.
Do things that make you happy.
The seat came with a Bride RHD seat rail so I had to order a new LHD TRD
seat rail that came with an OEM air bag canceler plug-in and other hardware.
I've also replaced the old e10 bolts that mounted the seat to the chassis and replaced
them with new OEM bolts that were on the 2017+ models.

TRD Sun Shade

Been wanting this for quite a while but I already have a $20 sun shade I got off Amazon.
When I ordered my seat, it came with a RHD seat rail.
I needed to order a LHD TRD seat rail but didn't want to pay that much shipping for it alone.
I decided to add in the sun shade because "Why the heck not?" Really glad I got it.
The fitment is great and covers the entire front windshield.

beautiful seat, congrats!

Jdmjunkie 07-04-2022 02:53 PM

Does the new seat sit any lower than the stock seat?

The TRD seat rails have it about the same, maybe a bit higher than stock seats. There's a lot more room under the seat. Could even fit a vacuum nozzle under there as well.

The seat originally came with a Bride seat rail. It was much lower than the TRD seat rail.

Congrats on the OGs and the TRD seat!!! Everything looking minty as usual! :)

Such an awesome and rare seat. Congrats

UPDATE

Found another rare part that I've been searching for several years!

TRD Shift Bezel

The quality is much better than I expected.
It's made out of aluminum and feels great to the touch.
I did find this with a matching shift boot but unfortunately it is for A/T.

If anyone is willing to sell/trade for a M/T, please let me know!

It's pretty rare and not many know about it. I believe the TRD interior set was only produced in 2012 but I may be wrong. It's a small piece that few would truly appreciate.

RToyo86 10-15-2022 09:54 AM

I briefly booked for one of those Shifter bezels in 2020 but gave up. Glad to see you were able to find one!

Patience is definitely a virtue. It felt like a never-ending search but glad it finally paid off! :happyanim:

Glad to know who I was bidding against

Price was steep but not too bad considering the shift bezel came with the shift boot and a A/T shift knob. I had to have it since finding another one is nearly impossible. I was also keeping an eye on the TRD ebrake boot but have no clue how to fit it for LHD.

I have the TRD A/T shift knob and shift boot for sale if interested. You can send me a PM for pricing and details.

PM sent bro

Love this build, pretty similar to the direction I'm taking mine. I'm especially envious of those TRD buckets. I want a pair, but that's pretty far down my list right now. haha

Great minds think alike!

I also want a pair but my gf likes how the stock seat feels more than the TRD bucket, especially since it's my daily. I'm hoping to get another one down the road as well, probably when this becomes a garage queen.

UPDATE

Wanted to get this out just before the year ends.
In a few weeks, it will be 8 years of ownership of this amazing car
Looking forward to many more!

Got plenty of new parts since the last update:
- Voltex Type 1S Wing (1480mm)
- TRD Duracon Shift Knob (White)
- TRD Fender Fins (Carbon Fiber) BNIB
- TRD Fender Fins (Carbon Fiber) Used
- GRMN 86 Dash (RHD)
- MTEC Track Shift Knob (Red)
- Gruppe-S Catless UEL

Voltex Type 1S Wing (1480mm)
This was something I’ve been looking at getting later down the road but didn't expect to get it anytime soon.
An amazing deal popped up that I’d be crazy to pass up.
I picked it up within a few days, which I drove 12+ hours and back the same day.
Got it second hand but is in great condition.
I have yet to take this car to the track but definitely can feel a difference in the canyons.

TRD Duracon Shift Knob (White)
Another rare part to add to the collection.
Feels great and was installed with no issues. Gotta love that OEM fitment.

TRD Fender Fins (Carbon Fiber) x2
I didn’t think I wanted to get these since they are a bit pricey but ever since
I got the carbon fiber wing, I wanted some other carbon bits to match.
The first set I got was from another member and they are BNIB.
Since these are already rare, it’s even more difficult to find a brand new pair.
I’ve decided to keep these untouched and fine another set but used.

GRMN86 Dash (1 of 100)
As some of you may know, the GRMN86 is a very limited model in Japan (IIRC only 100 cars were made).
I was able to be swoop this awesome piece. Since this is a RHD part, I would keep it as a display piece.

https://i.imgur.com/QnjR8yA.jpg

MTEC Track Shift Knob (Red)
Got this as a Christmas gift from my gf.
I mentioned to her about getting another shift knob to add to the collection.
Something a bit different than the others I have.
It’s very nice to the touch and feels great with spirited driving.

Gruppe-S Catless UEL Header
Been wanting to change up the exhaust set up for a while.
Switched out my FT86SF Catted UEL and JDL FP/OP to stock OP and FP, along with the catless UEL.
It’s about the same volume level but at a little bit lower tone.
Also switched my tune from the Catted Stage 2 to off-the-shelf Stage 2, since OFT advised to do so.

*No picture needed since we all know what catless headers look like.
They're shiny and it makes the engine bay a bit prettier.*

UPDATE

Finally got around to installing the TRD Fender Fins.
Install wasn't too bad; Just needed a heat gun, floss, and a lot of 3M tape.
Glad to add a little more carbon to the car.

The TRD CF aero fins are probably one of the most stunning and gorgeous aftermarket pieces ever made for these cars.

Clipdat 02-12-2023 11:31 PM

I had a pair on my first twin and I miss them badly!

I'm getting back into an FR-S soon! Hope to see you around the bay area. Do you ever come out to any meets?

Welcome back to the 86 community!
Unfortunately prices for these in carbon have been going up.

I try to attend morning 86 meets whenever they come up. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Had a great time meeting you and talking cars on Sunday.

Thanks so much for answering my questions and showing me all the cool stuff on your car! Really clean build!

It was very nice meeting you and I'm glad that I answered your questions.

Feel free to reach out any time, I'm always happy to talk for hours about our cars

P.S. Really glad to have seen your car. Seen it around the forums but seeing it in person was phenomenal.

Clipdat 04-25-2023 10:08 PM

Will do! Love talking cars as well. My steering wheel just started officially flaking today, so depending on how bad it gets I may be looking for an aftermarket wheel. Would prefer something OEM-ish like the TRD/Momo one you have. The diameter of that one is a little bit thicker than stock, right?

Thank you for the kind words about my car, appreciate it!

It still kinda feels like Laz's car, to be honest! But the more I do to it and the more miles I log is helping. I think I'm going to order this for it soon, and maybe an alcantara gauge hood as well: https://www.ftspeed.com/part/su003-0...ered-logo-ft86

Can't go wrong with the TRD wheel since it's OEM+. The diameter is a bit beefy-er, especially around the 9 & 3 areas. I do have one for sale if you're interested.

That dash panel is really nice. I believe it's made with the same suede material as my TRD dash. Super easy install and makes a great difference for the interior.

UPDATE

Parts recently installed:
- OEM Frameless Mirror (SU003-07866)
- TRD Fuel Cap (MS360-00001)
- TRD Emblem (B Type,Color) (MS010-00014)

OEM Frameless Mirror
I noticed that the original mirror was starting to de-laminate when I was doing a full interior clean.
Decided it was time to finally switch to the frameless mirror for a more premium look.
Easy install with no tools needed.

TRD Fuel Cap & TRD Emblem (Type B,Color)
Since I ordered the frameless mirror from overseas, might as well add a couple more goodies to the order.
For the TRD fuel cap, because why not?
For the TRD emblem, I always thought it would look really nice.

Parts recently installed:
- 14R Engine Cover
- TRD Driving Gloves

14R Engine Cover
OH MAH GAWD :happyanim:
The search is over and sooo happy to have this 14R60 cover.
Edit: These were on the 14R and 14R60; unsure on total made.
Was able to get this from a former 86 owner.

TRD Driving Gloves
Been thinking of getting some driving gloves but can't seem to find some that I really like.
Saw these and knew I had to get themem.
Will use these mainly for the summer or whenever my hands get a bit sweaty.
Had a few hand slips and "Oh shi-" moments.
P.S. Peep the only skyline I can afford

Very nice TRD engine cover!

Have you considered the Perrin silicone inlet tube (and by association, sound generator delete)?

Thanks!

I haven't but it does make the engine bay look a bit cleaner. If anything, I might consider getting the TRD intake but I'm pretty content with the stock one for ease of maintenance.

Have you considered getting the Perrin inlet tube as well?

Clipdat 06-03-2023 04:57 PM

Oh yeah, I forgot about the TRD intake! That would be a logical addition for your build theme. CARB legal, too, so you wouldn't have to swap it back and forth for smog testing.

I have the Perrin inlet tube on mine. It made a slight, but noticeable difference in engine performance and throttle responsiveness. I also liked how it removed the noise generator piping and cleaned up the engine bay, as you mentioned.

There are more than 100 of those covers I am sorry to say, I have one in my TRD 14r, as did every other 14r, not sure how many they made in total, but not many still - good find
