  3. Volkswagen GTI
  4. Hyundai Genesis coupe
  5. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  6. Ram 2500
  7. Dodge Dart
  8. Infiniti G37
  9. Subaru Impreza
  10. Hyundai Veloster

Also:
  • WRX drivers have 2.29 times the number of DUIs and 1.82 times as many at-fault accidents as the national average.
  • The FR-S came in at 1.72 times the average for at-fault accidents, but 25% below the national DUI average.

OK so now link to where this "data" came from.
If it is the insurance institute one it is very skewed because it is just drivers that applied for new insurance not a true picture of all drivers.

the lower DUI part is sorta interesting, first time reading that, but the ticketing part hasn't been news since the times of the boomers

..and admittedly, I added to the ticket & accident stat (though the latter was the other party's fault)

"according to a survey by insurance shopping website Insurify."

Feel like a broken record for always saying it but getting a decent radar detector will almost ensure you never get a speeding ticket again.
If you're being unfairly targeted out there, do something about it. It happens with this car as it attracts polices eyes on it.

Yep That is the one. Totally bogus numbers based only upon people shopping for new insurance. Not even a basically accurate snapshot of the big picture that probably only shows that those car owners shop for insurance more than others. Not even a coincidence that an insurance shopping survey would have people with higher numbers of tickets and DUIs. That is the very reason they are shopping for insurance!
Makes a great clickbait headline though.

Or you could always not speed. If you have a detector then you have the intent to speed so what is unfair if caught?

Nah, doesn't matter. It is fair if I'm caught though....as unlikely as that is. I'm not complaining about getting caught driving like a maniac, just your every day going over PSL we all do.
Saying radar detectors are a intent to speed is the same as saying getting high performance tires or a big wing is intent too though.

This article better explains how I drive better than I could:

I'm just doing out there doing my best to be a safer driver.

i tried that for 2 years once. the last straw was when it was inconsistently going off for 25 miles of open road where i had clear line of sight and no other cars, then 10 minutes after it stopped going off, the first vehicle for miles that turns up turned out to be a cruiser that was checking speed. it never blipped, even once when the cruiser was visible.

i gave up on radar detectors after that.

would prob make a good decal/psa

Weird. Could have just been a bad egg from the carton. It happens sometimes, I also look in https://www.rdforum.org/ here and there and see that happening.
I get completely opposite results of what you experienced. It will be a little noisy around certain newer cars but I have become accustomed to ignoring it when it's clear that's what is going on. It really is an unfair advantage I have with that thing now. I use a Uniden R3, a little spendy but, so worth it. Ran a Passport 8500 X50 before this but this is just is a totally unreal tool to reach very far out there. Miles away before I even see them now. Even in heavy congested areas it's still getting them past a mile out.
I don't advocate ignorant speeding but when we are driving with the "speeding" flow of traffic or in my case below the PSL because I was watching him tail me to see what he was doing, it really makes driving much more enjoyable since I'm not looking over my shoulder waiting for some silly 5mph over ticket since the car looks fast.
Last ticket was like 15ish years ago before I had one. It was a speedtrap in Virginia going from 65>55>45 so quick letting off the gas wouldn't have stopped them from giving out tickets. Virginia...the craphole only state in the U.S. where radar detectors are illegal. Gee, I wonder why.... Haven't come close to getting one since. Other than that last doofus that pulled me over last year lying about my speed that is. Schooled him on the laws about concealed carry and made him look stupid so he took off embarrassed without even a warning as it was a bogus stop to begin with. I mean I love cops for putting their lives on the line but man a few bad ones out there really screw up the reputation for the rest something terrible.

Just looked and the R3 is now down to $300 since the R7 now recently came out. Three bills is just one speeding tickets worth of electronics that will make driving much more relaxing.
Anybody thinking about getting one should have that R3 at the top of the list. Not for fast and furious driving but peace of mind.
