aluminum driveshafts anyone have updates?

So, I know it's been asked but, haven't seen any updates lately. Are you guys still experiencing vibrations with the drive shop shafts?

NoHaveMSG 12-23-2019 06:53 AM

Yes.

Verus CF driveshaft looks to be the answer.

Thanks

Yeah, I will never do a one piece ever again. The only reason I bought one is I lost a U-joint and an AL one piece is cheaper then a new OEM one and rebuild-able.

It is not. I tried both and am going back to stock soon.

too heavy. I have a dss carbon and it is so nice. Just a little whine. Of course my interior is completely gone besides my driver seat, the dash, and the driver's side door card, so I might not be the best judge of nvh.

My one piece CF shaft is so much smoother than stock.

I don't doubt it! I don't want OP to think there's no alternative though. Polarity thinking is dangerous

Possibly because your interior is gone and mine isn’t. But my dss carbon has zero whine or vibration up to 135mph (never gone faster). No real difference between stock. Mostly just a slight increase in response from being 1 piece. And the benefits of being 12lbs lighter.

(Not saying this is your case) but I know people installed the ds wrong and it would vibrate and they had to rotate it then it was completely fine. But i installed and everything was fine the first time so i can’t personally attest to that.

I guess we need an Aluminum manufacturer and teh CF manufacturer to build units that are like the factory setup. It will work and the lighter components will let us rev a little quicker. What say yee

It is very much because my interior is missing. Everything the rear diff and driveline does is much more noticeable. When everything was stock you almost never could hear anything. Which was boring to me.

There are multiple options. At least 3 different carbon driveshafts that I know of, I am sure there are some special ones in japan as well. And I am sure there are ways to make sure everything is right down there and cancel out anything that that is annoying but just part of the deal in other ways that is not changing out drivelines. If you don't care about overall weight there is multiple different types of sound deadening that can make the cabin as quiet as a lexus.
