Honda Teasing S2000
Article from Car and Driver
It seems like it's their accessories division releasing this prototype, but could this also be to gauge public interest in a future S2000? Or maybe something similar to the Miata restoration parts program? |
Honda is no longer the same company that made the AP1. If they released a new S car today it would have their current corporate look and it would be some kind of hybrid.

Not sure what Hondas plan is with this. They sure are making a big fuss with multiple sites covering it (or poaching articles from C&D). They are making one, singular, not for sale. I doubt it would be to gauge interest I think this is nothing more than a hey look what we can do, and everyone lusts over it. Then they say oh well you can't have that but HOW BOUT THIS:

The article states it's a 20th celebration and they're making an updated dress up kit and as suspension parts. I doubt we will see another new car, unless Honda partners.
Maybe for potential existing buyers to snatch up those parts? I prefer the stock bumper my self. |
Meh. Just another internet article based upon some fictional event. Notice a complete lack of a link to any official Honda statement? Can somebody link me to the Honda press release on this since I can't seem to find it? Now it will just spread across the clickbaits and get added to until it is said it is coming out next year as a supercar for $5000. People will believe it.
Did everybody enjoy the second gen 86 that these sites insisted would be revealed at the Tokyo show? Not the first time that C&D has used their "source" to say a new S2000 was on its way. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a1...s2000-revival/ |
F-ing click bait.
Go die in an asshole (every online car "reviewer") well not the op. Well maybe just poke your head in for a bit. |

This is no different then what other car companies do for shows. No different than the "E-10" electrified C-10 Pickup Chevy did at SEMA this year. I don't think anyone expected they would produce that particular vehicle.
In fact that's really all the article says. I didn't read anything into it saying this was some type of floater. All it said was Honda had released this photo, basically like other articles on the subject. I'm guessing since Honda has nothing else "more sporty less ricey" to show off they keep rolling this back out for the attention. |
