Backup camera positioning
 

I have an aftermarket backup camera that was installed right in the middle of the trunk. Was thinking of getting an oem one but I believe those are mounted more to the driver side. Can I still use the oem camera in the current position (middle of the trunk) since the holes are already made?

No. Car will catch fire.

Joking aside. Here's your answer:

Duh. The camera doesn't care where it's mounted. But everyone would know it's an add on.

What use is it in the middle of the trunk?? Should the camera not be installed on the rear and outside of the trunk??

To keep people from stealing it of course. Mines in the glove compartment.
