The twins interior has aged well?
 

In the higher trims with push to start and dual zone climate in my opinion the interior has aged well. With a few additions that came standard in Japan there is really nothing I would change. It reminds of the simpler times with the 90s era sports cars. Only what you need and nothing else. Thoughts?

Yes, even in lower trims (i.e. my FR-S), interior is simple, functional, styling still holds up, and the materials (i.e. cloth seats etc) are still looking good despite my car being a daily that hauls kids around. Only thing that really hasn't held up is the stock floor mats.

I upgraded so many parts of my interior (about 2K cad spent) that I'm not sure if I see anything OEM anymore lol

Agree with that. Floor mats do suck [emoji23] the driver side is the worst due to 6sp

they certainly extended it's shelf life by making it nicer with the "granlux" faux alcantara on the dash and on the door cards in the kouki models.

once it became a part of the toyota line up in north america the interior def became a little classier (padded everything like the knee pads and a stitched gauge cluster hood, one piece panel dash trim for a cleaner look without the break and with embossed logo in the corner, better steering wheel, that little screen in the gauge cluster that tells you your mpg, g's, and i believe they now have android auto / apple carplay?)

also love how the 86 cabin has more toyota heritage than the supra, taking cues from the 60's 2000gt giving our interiors that timeless look

not to mention everything feels like where it's supposed to be (shifter, pedals, seating pos) one big fat tach in the middle, and that these seats are grippy and comfy. no frills like mentioned before , just enough to get the job done, and with some history behind it. def agree about it being the 2020 version of a 90's japanese sports car.

Yup. I agree. It's held-up well. I think it's mainly due to the dash architecture. I had my seats reupholstered and I think that was a badly-needed upgrade. I'd also love to see a high-quality carpet-kit available in more color options.

In general, the styling is fine for me. It is simple and just works, but most of my interior has seen some type of treatment or replacement.

A lot of my friends say that the interior looks dated. When I look at it, it reminds me of a early 90's interior with a modern twist. It's more nostalgic for me and makes me think of my old 92 EG hatch. I just love it.

Everything about the interior is average quality wise, good design though.

I don't think the car is old enough to say one way or the other. Once they hit the 15 year mark enough time will have passed to effectively see a difference. What is really going to separate our cars from the rest is that we won't have electronic e-brake buttons or huge ipad dash panels. I'm sure in the future there will be more integrated technology into things we touch (Like steering wheel heart rate monitors!)

I think the interior looks great. But in my opinion so does a 1996 Impreza L. Or a 3000GT VR4. Or anything other than an 1992-2015 American vehicle interior (I'm looking at you, 2000s Corvettes)

It probably costs pennies to Toyota or Subaru since its the same damn clock with different colors since the original 86 came out (or even older) lol. I honestly don't mind that due to it being functional at the simplest level.

It doesn't bother me in any way I just find it a hilarious retro feature in a relatively up to date dash.

Yea, it is pretty pathetic, but I also find the sport chrono package clock on the Porsches to be ridiculous. Luckily my Kenwood HU has the time clearly displayed.
