Retrofit/Blackout with Led Halos

Finished the retrofit yesterday, decided to add some LED Halos just because. What do you guys think? Haven't wired in the LED Halos yey cause I am trying to decide how to run them. I think I am gonna go with running them anytime the car is on.http://www.ft86club.com/forums/pictu...pictureid=1545

Haha! To each his own. I think I am liking it cause it sets it apart being good or bad depending who's lookin!

Respect for the hard work, but the color of the ring doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the car.

Roborat 08-05-2012 06:50 PM

Yeah, it's weird to have a white LED, the Halo is coated to produce the white light and it's yellow. But I am gonna have it wired to always be on with the car. This way u will only see the yellow when the car is off. Once I get it wired I'll post a new pic with it on.

what i personally think you should do is get a bigger shroud and place the ring inside the shroud so you cant see the ring but when the led is on you see through whatever holes are in the shroud the led light.

May do that down the road when I do a complete headlight overhaul. Funny thing is the more I see it in person the more I am liking it. Haha

can you spray that halos red?

Roborat 08-05-2012 09:10 PM

I thought that exact same thing but u can't because the top coat is what makes it the color the halo is. These halos are white when turned on.

hmm i have a set of halos in my garage from trs i might try to use VHT night shade on them

Roborat 08-05-2012 09:25 PM

If you decide to try that and it works make sure and post it. I actually like the contrasting colors, but that's just me. Cause the headlight blackout is done so often that I like that it stands out a little. Plus driving a firestorm red FR-S doesn't really shout subtlety. Haha

i dont have them in a headlight housing i have them left over from a retrofit i did i will do it one day this week i just have to find my can of night shade

Moved to Cosmetic Modifications forum because this is not a DIY topic.
