Does front lip of Scion FR-S bottom out easy?
 

I am waiting on purchasing FR-S soon , was womdering how low front lip is. My driveway dips at the road. Any feedback appreciated as I might have to prep my driveway. TY

too hard to give you an answer when we dont know anything about your driveway.

in general, i don't have any problems going over dips, but i'm still very cautious.

eg., if there are multiple exits/entrances, i will take the one that's more flat.

If you go out straight you will scrape the front bumper. It happened to me, didn't think it would.

No issue so far but then again i try to go at an angle

If it dips then back out at an angle. One corner at a time.

Depends how you drive and what you are used to driving. Having driven a lowered car before this I find the nose height is plenty to not bottom out anywhere, even on rough roads and parking lots. But if you are one of those people that goes perpendicular down driveways and pulls into parking spaces until your tires hit the curb, you are going to have a lot of damage to your front bumper.

I've bottomed out 4 times :'(

It has a good amount of clearance, I found that the metal panels under the car scrape easily though on steep driveways when I take a big angle

i havent had a problem with scraping yet. my driveway is kind of angled as well, but at anything that dips i drive slowly and at an angle to it because i am used to driving my tC which was lowered just over 3"...

I scrap my mazda on my driveway if I don't go out at an angle and I'm pretty sure the FR-S sits lower. I know the FR-S sits at about the same height as my sister's Mercedes though, and she's said she can avoid scrapping with the same technique. Just take it at a slow angle.

It's not super easy to bottom out. I have done it twice, once I had an extra 250 lbs in the car backing out of my driveway and once going to fast while drifting a down slope. Both are only visible if you are underneath the car.

Fuck it man, just ram it home. "speedy racer: FR-S are meant to be driven hard, not pussified."

To my surprise, there is reasonable clearance from what I've encountered while driving around in my area... But I still advise being cautious, nevertheless.
