Afa Giulia QV
Hi gents,
I have decided to put my 86 for sale to get giulia QV. I know Alfas and I couldn't be happier that after decades they have finaly made Giulia QV. 4 door rwd sedan with 500hp, low weight and is not audi, bmw, mb. Does anybody here have this car? Allthough 86 is a hard car to replace for me but the versatility of giulia that makes it a perfect race/family car was the tip of the scale. I am writing this because I couldn't find any debate about giulia QV on this forum. I think the car is just perfect. Cheers |
If you dont mind lengthy warranty repairs there is no better car than an Alfa Romeo. I bought a 1977 Alfetta GTV as my first car 16 years ago. The Alfa love is real.

Beautiful car, but...
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...bility-update/ Not particularly lightweight either at 3830 lb.! |
Alfa entirely left the North American market a couple decades ago.
Within the last 5 years a few dealers have opened back up, but they are few and far between. Better current Alfa European info and discussion with owners may be over on PistonHeads |

I did not realize it is that heavy, yeah that car at that weight cannot claim "light weight" https://media1.giphy.com/media/4zoyU...&rid=giphy.gif |
I did a brief test drive in one. It's a nice looking car inside and out. Definite reliability issues. A bit small inside. If I had a dealer close by, and if I needed a gas only car, sure.
I'd take a Model 3 Performance over it, though. |
Have 2 friends who owns em. Giulia is hands down beautiful car and performance is amazing even w that weight they carry. But... but... sadly, they have so much bugs/issues. Both friend's Giulia have been going back and forth at the dealership since owning it. I think, one of em have been in dealership for over a month!
If you're okay with Giulia goes to dealership to get things fix for few weeks and have spare car to drive around, then might be worth it. I wouldn't recommend buying it as main car. |
I had one and loved it! I traded in my 2013 FRS towards it. I had it for about 1 year and only managed to put 7,000 miles on it. I knew what I was getting into but the unplanned services sucked; big time. It pretty much broke down every 1,000 miles. I bought it new, it was a 2018. I traded it in for a 2020 Supra.

I am bot concerned abou alfas "reliability". I have owned a couple with no problems and also dealers and italy itself is fairly close to me so I have a good backup in case of failures. As for light weight I was refering to its class. Would love a supra though but sadly no back seats.

My Alfa 4C has been reliable, but certain parts take a while to source, whereas others I actually get from my local Mopar dealer vs. the markup at an AR dealer.
Alfa love is real -- But I've driven a lot of special / exotics cars and nothing is like the 4C. That being said, my '17 BRZ has never stranded me and never had an issue. |
I'm also considering the jump now. Here in the UK they offer 5 years warranty if bought after June 18 so that is a must. The thread on Pistonheads seems to suggest bar the early ones and some odd software quirks that can be resolve by resetting the car, they are actually pretty solid cars.
I really enjoyed the test drive, they are far less common that the alternatives (M3 Competition Pack / C63) and much better looking. https://res.cloudinary.com/lagbv048w...3_10.34.55.jpg https://res.cloudinary.com/lagbv048w...3_10.34.20.jpg https://res.cloudinary.com/lagbv048w...3_10.18.35.jpg https://res.cloudinary.com/lagbv048w...3_10.18.46.jpg |
What lip and skirts are on that FRS?
