I bought a new transmission for 1k and I didnt realize it was missing a piece on the back end (in the photo) and without that the driveshaft isnt sealing properly and transmission fluid is leaking out of the where the transmission connects to the driveshaft. I'm not sure what to do or use to seal it and would like some advice. I cant afford to buy another tranny, and the one I bought was shipped from out of state so I cant return it.

That piece is a dust cover, it is just lightly hammered on. Behind it is an oil seal that is likely missing or damaged. You can get a replacement from Subaru for like 12 bucks.

Oil seal (17009AA040) Click to buy
Cover-Dust (30099AA080) Click to buy (the pic they use is wrong but the part is correct)

Try that.
