I need a phone mount. NON-MAGNETIC.
What did you settle on?
NO MODS. Just something that sticks in the vents, I guess |
That's a ricer mod.

If you're not FI you can just hold it and drive, it'll be a while before you can make it to the edge of the road or have to shift.

Hands down the best phone mounts on the market. I have been using them for years in my cars and could not be happier. Your phone stays completely stable and you can have one with a charger built in. I prefer the amounts that require no case they fit really nice.

A wireless charger one.
I'm new to this wireless charging witchcraft. So far I have a wireless charger that goes into the middle vent on my 86, a wireless charger alarm clock (and temperature gauge) on the bed side table, and a flat boring wireless charger on my desk at work so I can binge netfix without the need of wires, or actual work......yeap, because wireless. I'm sure I'm going to hell using all of this witchcraft shit but meh. |
this scosche
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....kL._SX425_.jpg mainly use it as a phone mount, will eventually use it as oft mount, have used it for go pro is sturdy, flexible, sleek not clunky, and suction mount is a win. no need for an adjustable bracket to hold a variety of phones, just stick a thin magnetic plate provided in the package on back of your device. have a vent mount in my dd and my phone gets heated up during the winter when i turn up the heat.. should prob buy one of these again for that is cheap-ish? can prob find one for super cheap on ebay |
^^ Boom on the cooking the phone problem when you use a vent mount. That and the shape of ours is terrible unless the thing is extended but then it flops around. Suction mounts are the way to go but where to put it... I just got a pretty nice one with a gel suction cup and it sticks to the pebbled soft touch dash top we have but the phone is too high and sort of blocks my vision (and can be seen from behind), same problem with windshield mounting. I'm going to try it on the smooth plastic trim to the right of the head unit but I already know it won't stick over the seam so it kind of has to be in the passengers "space" so that may not work. Bottom line is we need a head unit with Car Play or Android Auto.

I use the following one
https://www.walmart.com/ip/360-Degre...saAhNuEALw_wcB It slides into the middle vent and does not move, does not damage anything and sits at the perfect height angle for viewing etc. |
Get the phone mount from beatsonicUSA.com. Made specifically for our cars, highly recommend it. Part #’s QBF13 and QBA45.

I have a custom bracket that clips to the dash trim piece which magic mount attached.
Phone sticks just fine, I've had it on track and it never budged. |
Thanks for the input. I'm looking to get a new phone mount soon.

Why no magnet? They work great.
