Removing Piston Emblem On Fender Garnish
 

Decided to try to mod the fender garnishes before I bought new ones. Just never cared for the emblem and with the swap it certainly doesn't go with the car now. Basically cut it out and welded it back in place with a soldering iron. I should of bought the plastic welding kit from Harbor Freight but was too lazy to drive the 25 miles. Hopefully the welds wont crack

Why not just switch over to BRZeee thingies??

Just a cost. Figured I'd try to modify what I have first as it's no real cost as I have all material needed. If these don't turn out,,, I'll be buying some.

Paint don't match,,,,, but other than that it's great LOL

Did you buy paint matched spray paint?

I bought Axalta (formally Dupont) Chromabase,, a basecoat clear coat system that I sprayed with a regular HVLP gun. Took the paint dealer the paint code and the gas cap to make sure it was right when they mixed it. Color is in the neighborhood but still quite a bit off. I have to spray the hood, hood scoop, 4 fender arches and a spoiler. No way I can spray this color. Spoke to dealer today,, taking back the gas cap, the garnish so they can compare the two and hopefully tint it to correct color. Fingers crossed.
