Oneven Tire wear
Hi,
I noticed today that my front tires are oneven worn. Inside is much more worn than outside. Rears are OK. https://imgur.com/a/Ha6WRSo Is it something I can adjust myself? I am on HKS Hypermax IV coilovers. Or should I get an alignment when I put new tires? Thanks! |

I bought my car with the coilovers installed.
I just changed the wheels including new tires. |

Until you find an appointment try maybe rotation your tires front to back if possible? See if the wear is starting on the "new" sets from the back. |
Check alignment and tire pressure.

You won't ever get alignment correct yourself. I'd recommend finding an alignment shop that deals with lowered cars also. Standard shops may just put you to factory spec, but good alignment with coilovers can sometimes be more involved or require additional parts for adjustment. |
You are going to want less negative camber and 0 toe. In case you wanted some search terms as to what is happening and how an alignment could help. Good luck.

Get an alignment

Wait a minute, isn't 'oneven' better than 'uneven'? Don't we want to be 'oneven'??

First I'm gonna give you a forum pro tip, to have an image show up in the forum vs having just a link. In a browser right click the image in the webpage (in this case imgur) and select copy image location. Then click the little icon in the forum that is https://www.ft86club.com/forums/imag...nsertimage.gif and delete all the text in that and paste in what you copied and then you got your picture natively visible on the forum. It looks to be wearing due to camber, now the question is if you intended camber in your set up with plates or what have you. Now this could occur due to the geometry with your wheels/offset and your new suspension. I think a great place to start would be getting a professional alignment, they would likely be able to also clue to in to why it isn't wearing evenly better than we can on this forum without seeing it first hand. |
thats toe wear, if it was camber wear it would be more conical

I’ll go and see a wheel alignment shop and change the front tyres. I’ll probably get more grip on the front with proper aligned setup, right? |
Yep. Alignment is the fix.
Yes it would be more grippy... lol not! If you want grip get better tires. Camber only does a bit. Tires does the rest. |
