FRS vs 2020 mustang HPP??
 

Anyone drive the new mustang ecoboost HIGH Performance Pack? How does it compare? I've always said if the ecoboost had the RS engine I'd get one, but after owning my FRS for a few yrs I'm thinking the mustang would feel like a boat..any kind of input is appreciated.

Just had a Mustang GT as a rental. Drove halfway down CA in it. 100% would rather have a twin. Mustang was both a boat and less comfortable than the FRS.

Power to weight. Enough said.

If you're looking at something like that the Camaro 1le with the turbo four would be the choice IMO. It might be a little slower straight line but everything else it does better than the ecoboost mustang. Plus, it looks better subjectively and costs less.

Chevys turbo four cylinders also have a huge aftermarket that seems more robust than the four cylinder mustang.

No need to drive it. It's a big car. 86 is a little car. get it?

Yes, the Camaro 4cyl1le is nice. I should give it a chance. I'll be test driving a new HPP mustang as soon as my dealer gets one (manual). I'll report back

Oh I need to drive it...I might like it and my FRS is getting old. I don't have many choices for RWD coupes (2+2) with manual transmission for my DD. Basically 86/BRZ, mustang ecoboost and the Camaro.

It's not new but..... take a look at a '13+ Genesis coupe (V6 of course). The last '16 are pretty dam impressive.
Or if you can find one a BMW 335 coupe in manual. Those where the cars I test drive before getting my BRZ.

I thought the turbo I4 was the fast version of the Hyundai.

The very first video review I watched about the turbo 1le Camaro said it was comparable to the BRZ. Then he said it would destroy a BRZ on a track. I'll be test driving this too.

Might also want to consider the V6 version. Haven't looked at the price difference, but it's usually far less than the jump to the V8. On Chevys, the V6 is regarded as the better engine than the I4t. On Fords the I4t is regarded as better than the V6.

The V6 is ligher and has had fewer issues than the I4t ecoboost. while the ecoboost variants have found more love from Ford Corporate with special track models, all performance parts for the GT and ecoboost will bolt over to the V6
and in itself it has some headers and intake mods for some opening up
Generally speaking as well the V6 models are cheaper than the ecoboost if you can find them for sale. they are a worth while to look for

Custom drive shaft, retune the ecu for raised top speed and some track pack mods and itll boogey well

Im acurrently looking at replacing the frs with a guard green V6 mustang... the S550 is just too good.

though yes compared to the 86 twins it would feel "boaty" due to the change in chassis. itslike going to the FRS from an ND miata

My wife's CTS wagon has the 3 6L and the aftermarket for the 3.6 is disappointing. But hers has been flawless for 100k. Do you think it wise to buy a new car from a company whose workers are striking? Seems like GM has a lot more issues than Ford as a company. IDK
