Pulling left under acceleration
 

HI All,

FRS 2014, about 120k km's (72k miles).

Car seems to be pulling left under acceleration at highway or close to highway speeds. You can put your foot on it and there is a noticeable rightward shift when you let off. Steering runs straight otherwise.

Seems like fairly soon to be having worn out suspension links but that is likely what it is.

Which rear link should I take a look at first?

It's not by chance one of most common reasons, such as different tire pressure (easiest and quickest free check), or misalignment? I seen many cases where people start searching different other reasons, when simply one tire was leaking air.

This is probably not it, but I hear sometimes when the diff is going bad it’ll apply more power to one wheel than the other and make you veer when you accelerate.

Did you get the Mustang mod? Was there a crowd to your left?

Checked tire pressures already. Highly doubt bad diff. Have had this happen on another vehicle before and it was definitely suspension related.

Is one of your shocks out, at highway speeds the smallest bump can cause a wheel to hop in the rear causing power to transfer to the driven wheel. That can cause a pull.




Is your alignment in spec. wheels pointing in different directions can cause the car to pull differently when weight is transferred over that wheel.
Are your bushings all good, You can lift the car and shake the wheel. Is there play
Is your air pressure all even.

I had the opposite issue on my '14; under braking it would pull to one side.

Front lower control arm bushings were worn.

Check all the bushings on a lift...

If it's pulling (turning at the front) then mostly like its a front suspension issue. Rear suspension issues make the car feel like its moving "under you" rather than pulling to one side or another.

How was this issue resolved? Im having the exact same problem, alignment is good, rolls straight after its done doing it rightward pull

If tire pressure, toe and bushings are fine it will by very high chance be caused by the shocks. Had this issue also when once changed the hardness setting of my adjustable shocks from pretty soft to maximum stiff on one side only. Tirned the knoob unintensional when I unloaded a box out of the trunk.

When was the last time you had all the wheels aligned?

I'm having a similar issue. All tyres are brand new, new front control arm bushings, new ball joints and tie rod ends as well. It sometimes pulls to the right but mostly to the left when travelling about 80-100 km/h. I'm still trying to figure this out.

Had to do some chassis straightening to bring the front left wheel hub forward as the caster was not matching the right side. Now, I'm thinking it may need another chassis check as the previous alignment shop data is showing that the caster is still a little off compared to the front right side. So I'm wondering if that's causing the issue for me or worse case scenario, something to do with the steering.
