Don't see it anywhere, care to share???...

GodSays 08-28-2012 11:58 AM

Hmmm the picture has it on an FRS so I wondering if well be able to order here on the states eventually which would definitely be cheaper than importing it

Guff 08-28-2012 12:37 PM

I don't think anyone has replicated this pedal yet. It was pre-production and then they took it out to prevent 'unintended acceleration' complaints or something... :iono:

danthedirt 08-28-2012 01:50 PM

There's a vendor in the CC section that is selling a wide pedal for heel toe.

Looks interesting just waiting for someone else to try it first and give feedback

Just by looking at that picture, it's most likely a prototype. I can already spot a few other differences between that picture and the production car

With the stock pedals (at least on the BRZ, i'd imagine the FR-S are the same), heel-toe is already a breeze. Not sure there's really a need for that, at least IMO.

No way Jose! I'm not a contortionist...no way I can easily heel and toe this thing, there is just too much room between the brake & gas pedals. Either that, or I just have narrow feet

Bump

One day my wish will come true.

If anyone wants pics, I have a set (anodized black, countersunk machined holes). Not currently mounted though.

Agreed, it's all abt proper foot placement--the pedals are well-spaced, IMO.

Has anyone ever tried to heel/toe a 1st gen Viper? Now that's a spread! lol

Nardi330 12-04-2012 09:53 PM

someone has made one in Japan:

not cheap tho (18,000 yen).

They are well spaced depending on your heel/toe technique. Factory pedals work great if you use your heel for the blip. Rather than using my heel I like roll my foot and use the right edge of my foot to blip the throttle. For that technique the pedals are too far apart.

Pedals showed up yesterday and I have to say I really like them. Very good quality. The satin finish goes really well with the silver trim in the brz. Pedals also have quite a bit more grip than stock.

Anyone who where to buy the NeoPlot piece in US?

86BRZ 01-02-2013 01:47 AM

I like the Neoplot one, at least I don't have to go through all troubles to replace all 4 to get them all matched for the SRP racing set and it is more OEM look. Sent an email to Japanparts.com and see if they can help to order this. Seems expensive, but it appears the whole piece is CNC machined for retro fit.

Vracer111 01-02-2013 09:40 PM

The accelerator only pedal setup from SRP looks great with the other OEM pedals and is way more functional for throttle bliping than the stock setup (which is not that great, the stock setup on my '98 Tacoma is infinitely better than the stock FR-S layout...)

After couple emails to Japanparts.com, it is now on their site for $207.

Together with shipping, this Neoplot pedal is like $250 from Japanparts.com. I ordered one and will see in a few weeks.

celica73 01-08-2013 02:37 PM

I've got the SRP and it's quite nice.

I guess I'd go with this since I don't think anyone is going to make the one in the OP

Any link to buy this in the US?

Trinzler 02-01-2013 09:56 AM

Nothing beats OEM for the BRZ

I'm using this one:

Thanks for the link, I'm gonna get one. Maybe I'll paint it with rustoleum or something since I don't care for the shine. But I'll probably be too lazy to care

MmmDieselFumes 02-05-2013 02:11 PM

Sooo... Any distributors in the US have these? Really don't wanna pay for the long & expensive shipping from Japan.

cmspooner 02-22-2013 06:07 PM

Rallysport Direct now has the cusco cover. I'm torn on which to buy

Comparison:
Cusco ($58.20 Shipped to NH with discount)
Pro: No Drilling
Con: Shiney (can be sanded for a duller/brushed finish)
Con: More expensive

SRP Racing ($42.80 Shipped to NH with discount)
Pro: Larger extended area
Pro: Matte finish
Con: Drilling Required

What do you guys think?

You're probably trying to twist your foot into a horizontal position and making it hard on yourself. Try moving your foot up the brake pedal more and instead of pushing it down with the tip of your foot, push it down with the ball of your foot. You will be able to press down the accelerator pedal with your heel without twisting your ankle much, less than 45 degress I would say.
