MODS

I'm new to the tuner/mod world.. so take it easy...

I'm looking seriously at an FRS with the following mods:

*cusco engine mounts

*Perrin shift bushing

* White Line subframe

*diff bushing inserts

I'm curious what impact these will have on the car if being used as a DD and also reliability, resale etc..

MANY THANKS!

next to nothing in terms of negative impact on reliability and resale

you might get some more incabin NVH.. maybe

theres maybe 600 bucks in OE parts if you wanted to go back to stock on those bits. otherwise not anything that would raise a flag for me

bigger question. does the body look like it had a body kit on it at one point. does the engine look like its been out of the car. exhaust manifold bolts look touched at all? single owner? title status?
how many miles are on the car. does the engine match the chassis VIN
where was it sold originally.

Thanks man! Single owner, no accident, clean title. 36XXX miles.

I FORGOT to mention -- currently has a Berk single exit track pipe but OEM exhaust can be put on before sale..

Not a huge concern again. how much are they asking. and what year

Sounds like my kind of car. I have the shifter bushing and like it a lot compared to stock. Subframe and diff bushings are on my shortlist. Apparently adds some nvh as mentioned before, but creates a firmer chassis overall. Check for things like random holes in engine bay and suspiciously clean or dirty spots in case there were some power mods that were removed. If the seller isn't forthcoming about what mods were removed (you can just ask before inspecting it) and you find something suspicious, I'd probably pass.

Sounds like it's set up perfectly. I'd find out why they chose those mods in particular since it feels like they're supporting mods for other things.

Could've just wanted a nice ride, Certainly got it right.

on the other hand I picked my 33k mile single owner colorado -> california car 2015 for 15,8k

im not sure if the RS 2.0 package is worth the extra funding. but if it looks all decent and rides decent and nothing super suspect. go for it.

it took me 6 months to find an 86 chassis i trust and i was a scion in white haha, but the bones are good and everythings held up just fine

no power mods

I have the shifter bushing and it's a lot more vibration at low rpm/higher load scenarios (IE you are stuck in traffic and dont want to double clutch into first gear but are probably going slightly too slow for 2nd gear). The others will add a bit more vibration again.

Not a huge deal really.

Ya the price is fair market per KBB..

Nice having some of the 2.0 upgrades i suppose..

White has never been my favorite car color , but "lunar storm" is growing on me lol

I find it interesting that the diff in price on a FRS vs FRS RS 2.0 is like 300 bucks on KBB... thought it would be more than that.

More question of why you want those mods for? Especially Cusco engine mount will vibrate your car a lot more than you think.

You wanna think "What's the goal for this car?" & from there, add/mod em one at the time. Cuz adding everything at once, you don't know what mod affect the car/driving.

The car already has those.
