I can't believe people are seriously asking for this to be a hatchback :suicide:

Seriously. I bought this car to drive tens of thousands of miles per year for work. It's almost perfect as an extremely practical daily driver. A hatch would increase the utility, and the car is shaped right for it. I wouldn't want it if it increased the weight or decreased stiffness, but all other things being equal why would you not want a larger cargo opening? Quote:

Don't care about more power, utility, creature comforts, etc.
I want pop up headlights. |

Hatch would be nice, is 230-240hp too much to ask?

I thought that’s what Toyota’s D4S does on the FA20? Direct and port injection Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No thanks, hatchbacks are great, but there are plenty of hatchback choices out there. The twins should always have a small coupe design. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Very true, didn’t think of that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The new CTR can rotate as well as most RWD cars. What Honda did is staggering. If they ever released a version without the crazy wing, etc, I would want one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I think a liftback would be cool. Still keep most of the sleek coupe styling but add that extra bit of practicality of having a bigger opening.
|
I think they could keep the same platform, with the following changes:
- Find a way to cut weight to 2600 lbs. More high strength steel and aluminum for the unibody, control arms, suspension, etc. Lightweight battery in the trunk. Delete the spare tire. Aluminum driveshaft. Whatever it takes, as weight reduction is the key to making this work and, for foreign market tax reasons, keeping the 2.0L. Bringing me to the next point. - Keep the FA20, but optimize high rpm flow for 8000 RPM redline and 220 hp on 93 octane. Maybe flexfuel/e85 compatible for 230 hp. With those two changes, the Twins leapfrog the 2019 ND in terms of performance, while keeping their practicality. Production costs go up with the more exotic materials, but development costs saved by reusing much of the existing platform should help offset that. |
My wish list:
~230hp/170tq *Shorter reverse, but taller 6th *Sliding/extending sun visor *One touch lane change blinkers *Larger trunk opening *Minimal weight gain *Armrest standard *No fake anything *Adjustable lumbar support |
Reading all these requests reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer's brother lets him design "The Homer" car.

1) Hatch Version
2) Make it Lighter 100kg if possible 3) 2.4 boxer we have been speculating about |

I totally get that, and RWD has a balance and cornering feel nothing else can match. That being said, the CTR is legitimately fast, like no FWD car should be that fast. Again, it all comes down to want you want in a car. I’m not concerned about setting the fastest HPDA lap times, I want a car I connect with. My experience driving a Fiat 500 Abarth was 100% smiles and laughter, so I say go for any of the Fiat 500 models. [emoji16][emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sad but true [emoji853] And I think it would be a good seller for Honda. I know the styling has kept many people away, despite how great a car it is. Just look at how nice and clean the 1st-4th gen CTRs look. And bring back the white wheels. [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Are those plaid removable vinyl seat covers available now.
YES > https://grizzshopping.com/products/r...ar-seat-covers Do want the plaid tartan The ones in the pic are not as fast because they have less stripes, and everyone knows stripes add performance. |

"(7) Bigger oil sump (extra 2 litres of motor oil) to extend service interval from 5,000km to 10,000 km."
My 2018 has service interval of 15,000km or 9mths here in Aus. |

Either there are going to be some totally disappointed people or Toyota is just going to re-release the 1974 Celica lift back. |

I hope Toyota/Subaru build pretty much the exact car with new styling and spend all the development money on having two engines on offer, NA and a higher powered TC variant.. Even though I've always been in the "just enough power" boat for the twins, I have absolutely hated hearing the power argument come up again and again on YT, articles, magazines, forums, etc...and since the Zupra most likely will never come with a stick, for me a turbo 86 with a stick would be the next best thing.
Other than that, the only real wishlist item for me would be to have a liftback/hatch (miss my 240SX's hatch) but only if we would still be able to carry 4 mounted wheels....following the twins has been a wonderful journey and I'm looking forward for many more years of driving fun! |

I'm kinda open to the idea of a T top BRZ, but I'd have to see it first. Miata and S2000 guys have shown that you can track an open top car with no compromise. Would be interesting to see and I wonder how many people would actually buy it lol Quote:

Mainly.... leave the car alone!
No hatch No shooting brake No turbo No Disneyland dashboard No refinement No delete options No targa top No sunroof But do address torque dip Spoiler/wing dealer installed option Delete sound tube All electric option with all wheel drive and 600 mile range. That covers it. |
