Bucket Seats to Factory Sliders *New from Brey-Krause Auto*

Hey everyone,

Brey-Krause just used my 2016 BRZ as a platform to develop some new goodies for our cars. Aftermarket side mounts for bucket seats that utilize the factory sliders are done and will be available to purchase in a couple weeks. I have the Sparco QRT mounted up and it's a dream setup. It lets you mount the seat nice and low, because all that nonsense meat is gone with the factory seat. Below are some points their developing engineer wanted me to mention, so take a look and let me know what questions you have!

-includes provisions to attach the factory 3 point seat belt receiver
-includes provisions to use bolt in 4/5/6 point harness lap belts
-includes provisions to use clip in 4/5/6 point harness lap belts
-includes mount points for our sub strap mount (R-9258 or 9259 depending on seat width)
-more slider travel than aftermarket slides
-stock sliders are strong enough to mount belts above (unlike aftermarket sliders), so belts stay properly located to the seat regardless of seat position
-stock sliders don’t get noisy over time like aftermarket sliders do

Brey-Krause has been making these parts for Porsche, BMW, Corvettes, Mustangs, etc for a long time and their quality is excellent.

A harness bar and fire extinguisher mount are almost done being developed, so I'll make a separate post when they're done testing.

Was any weight saved from going from stock to the QRT seat?

The Sparco QRT seats typically weigh between 15-16.5(ish) pounds, depending on the model. The EVO QRT and Grid QRT are both under 15lbs. I can put my stock seat on a scale tonight and see, but it's usually substantial over OEM anything.

Is there a passenger side available? And does it keep all the sensors etc on the passenger rail so that airbags are still functioning with no lights on dash?

The Driver side and Passenger side will be the same, so it'll be just one part number. Yes, you can use all the factory sensors since it's on factory sliders, but an aftermarket seat wont have the same sensors.

To answer your questions yes, the lights will still show up on your dash unless you swap them over from your stock seat.

Have you tested this? Have you removed the seat sensors etc and used with the modified passenger rail?

Looks very nice, I need a set of these! Would you mind sharing how much did they cost and where can I get them?

Would love to see a before and after headroom comparison, because from those pictures it still looks pretty high

I apologize, but I don't understand your question Ketchup? The driver and passenger side seats are essentially the same, so there is 1 part number for these side mounts that can be used on either side. This does not come with a wiring harness kit for each seat, so if you want to transfer the senors from your factory seats to your new bucket seats and are concerned it'll hinder any movement of the slider... then no it will not. Does that make sense?

I notice you still have the stock seat belt is still in place. Are you able to use it with these rails?

Bach415 10-17-2019 01:36 PM

@BizzMan where will we be able to order this at?

Yup, the stock belt is still there and works. You might need to add a washer or 2 depending on the seat you get and how much it bows out.

If you reach out to Brey Krause directly they can FW you to their main distributor. I don't think I'm allowed to mention a particular company's name on here, right?

Bach415 10-17-2019 06:59 PM

@BizzMan, you should be able to mention where we can get it from. The only thing you can't do is post an advertisement for the product w/ product information, price, etc without being a vendor.

OG Racing is their main distributor. BK and OG don't have anything posted on the website yet, but if you call they can get everything setup for you.

The harness coming out of the seat should be angled down 0 to 20 degrees to the harness bar. Make sure when you sit in the seat that the angle is there.

side mount wise, are they adjustable? Looking to get a set for a bride japan or recaro seat in the future.

Yup, just depends on the size of the seat.

- R-1486: Seat mounts for seats that are 433-460mm wide at the mount points
- R-1487: Seat mounts for seats that are 395-432mm wide at the mount points

BizzMan 10-30-2019 01:37 PM

Available on the Brey-Krause website. It'll be up on OG's in a bit, but they're taking orders now.

So excited for this! I'll be swinging in this winter for that exact set-up!

I really hope a recaro SPG XL will fit with this mount in this chassis...

jflogerzi 01-12-2020 01:16 AM

Looks cool. Car is still daily driver and I take my 3 year old to preschool. But when it becomes dedicated race car...
