For those renewing their Sirius XM subscription

I just got a call from siruis XM about renewing the subscription. Be sure to ask for their 1 year deal which is at 50% off their current rate. I got the $99 XM select for a year.

Sucks that its recurring, and there is this $75 early termination fee.

Ive been debating subscribing or not, i still have 2 months left on the 3 month thing, but so far i like the rock stations, a hell of alot less commericals. Thanks for the info

I'd consider it, but it all depends on if I keep the stock headunit or go with something like a Pioneer.

I've heard, but I've never tried, that if you play the hard sell, you can get a lifetime subscription for the price of a couple of years of service. Has anyone done that--might be worth it if you are planning on keeping the car for a while

We just signed up for the one year XM deal on my wife's Fusion after her 6 month trial period ran out for her satellite radio. It had expired for a month and she had gone without, and was kinda up in the air about renewing it. She enjoyed it, but wasn't sure it was worth the money. We're getting ready to take her car on a 2000 mile road trip though, and thought it would be nice to have for trips. We did the one year for $99 deal.

I kinda doubt I'll sign up for it after the trial period on my BRZ though. We've got quite a few good radio stations around here, and I've got other options for listening to music with the USB input for a thumbdrive or iPod, MP3's burned to a CDR, etc.

Instead of doing the 1 year and paying $99, do the 6 months for $25. The only thing is you have to do it every 6 months........

You guys can try internet radio on Shoutcast via Winamp. Same thing as XM with the genre stations, just via internet on a free app.

I didn't see a six month option anywhere on the XM website. Just quarterly and annual options. Is it one of the special deals you have to ask for or something they'll offer if you threaten to cancel?

Exactly! Works everytime! You just have to make sure you cancel before the 6 month period is over or theyll charge you the full $172 or whatever it is....
