Is there any advantage to hyperco or other springs beyond just choosing stiffness and length?

The key to our Xida kit is the damper itself. The Torrington bearings, main springs, ZRT's and helpers are all the same high quality parts we use on our race cars but do not need to be FIA level parts for the kit to work well, so we reduce cost there. Just as with our gold standard Miata Xidas, we offer a pro motorsports level of refinement and capability but well below typical pro motorsports level prices. This is accomplished by serial production. The kits are not made to order like most other kits at this level. We make huge batches and have contracts with all suppliers for large yearly forecasts. So you're getting a $4500 kit (Tractive one off retail equivalent) for $3300 :) |
Thank you 949 for taking the time/effort to bring a dialed in high quality coilover to market for our cars!
Apologies in advance for the potentially dumb question, why are these Xida's pricier than units offered for the miatas? |

Two additional questions: 1. Does previous Club Orange membership discounts carry over to this? 2. What sway bars to do recommend with the race pack springs? (200 whp, 255 A052's, no aero) |

2. 22mm front, OEM rear |
Bars, end links, and roll center adjusters are available on our site as well.

Final test day at Sonoma last week. A bit too windy for a perfect lap. Shame as temps were just about perfect. Managed a 1:50.7 which appears to be the N/A lap record for an 86 on any tire.
This was with about -4° front camber using the highest offset camber chips with the plates close to zeroed out. Oddly enough, we still haven't touched the rear alignment. Very slight rear toe in is stock. Whatever rear camber we picked up by lowering gave us pyrometer readings that have been spot on. Also still running stock rear sway. I have to scratch my head at all the mods people do to the rear suspension only to end up with a less than ideal set up. The old saying "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" applies here I think. Also a testament to the intrinsic goodness of the car as it leaves the factory. Anyway, we're satisfied with the spec on the Xidas so it's locked in a ready for production. Tractive says they won't be able to do 40 sets as quickly as i would like. It will take them a few months to gear up production. So first batch will likely be pretty small (by our standards) at maybe 5-10 sets. If you are waiting to order, you want to be on our mailing list. We always notify our current customers before posting on social media and forums. Anyway, enjoy our wobbly suction cup camera mount. Really need some better image stabilization or a better mount. @949 Racing @turbofan what top mounts (camber adjustable or otherwise) work with these coilovers? Do you guys sell these with the mounts shown in the first picture?
|
Can be used with OE top mounts, and we will offer them with billet coaxial mounts similar to the ones shown in the first post.

Triples?
These look great! Can the singles be retrofitted to triples if we decide we want a bit more independent adjustment?
|
Not cost effective. Would require being sent in to Tractive. Ultimately if you want triples, best to just wait for triples, which will be offered some time after the initial batch.
Frankly, though, we don't intend to sell a lot of triples. On other platforms singles outsell triples around 20 to 1, and for good reason. The singles are designed to work somewhat like a double, giving you better performance and adjustability while keeping costs down. The guy who needs triples is sortof like the guy who needs a computer without an OS. Yes, it's more flexible, but you very much need to know what you're doing in order to get it to work better than buying the simpler product. Most people are far better served by the singles. If you know what you're doing and want triples, we'll fill that need a little ways down the road. |

Do you have an estimate when the Triples will be available? |
