Sound deadening

I recently fitted a STi JDM axleback. It sounds good, but it has an annoying resonance at 2.5k-3k rpm. Do you think that a trunk sound deadening may help?
Thanks!

deadening. there's another fucking e in the word!

No, sound insulation won't do much. Your resonance comes from the exhaust, not the trunk.

Rolls eyes...Cheer up dude. English isn’t his first language.

OP, I’m not sure that you’ll ever get rid of it if coming from the exhaust.

The issue is the exhaust, you can weld in another resonator in the piping to help with the drone.

Welding another resonator isn't necessarily going to fix the problem since he'll have to tune it to the specific frequency. It'll take trial and error.

Header wrapping the exhaust will make a difference, but it may not eliminate the problem.

Why don't you capitalize your fucking words at the beginning of a sentence!

You should go to the grammar forums and leave the gear heads alone!

That stuff says its only good for 140 degreese Fahrenheit. Exhaust gets 300 to 400 Fahrenheit. This stuff will burn or melt off.

You don't put it on the exhaust you put it under the back seat and trunk area inside the car.:laughabove:

You get a :slap: for your first sentence.

You get a  for the second.

OP, I lined the inside of the spare tire well on my car and didn't notice a significant difference - :iono:
