Got some free springs

So a coworker just handed me a set of springs off of his bc coilovers, seem to be in pretty good condition. He thinks they are 10k all around. Any idea what to do with them? It doesn't seem like there is an option to buy just the struts from bc, so I wouldn't be saving any cash that way. Better to just sell them?

Springs are the cheap part of a coilover setup... you're better off just buying a matched set instead of trying to cobble it together with unknown spring rates.

you should throw them away

I've always wanted to make a pair of Moonshoes out of springs.

Did he upgrade to the Swift springs or something? That’s kinda weird. Maybe you could contact BC Racing and see what they say about just selling you the struts but probably not worth it

If they don't have markings on them then don't waste your time, put em into a project like above. If they do have markings on them that you can decipher they're probably worth $60/pair to someone who's interested in playing with spring swaps on coilovers that they will fit on, or hanging onto for your own suspension tuning purposes. Just buy BCs with different rates (you can custom order iirc) and swap the 10ks to tune handling, I'll be surprised as hell if they'll send you a setup without springs so you can save money.

10K is pretty stiff for this car, I had 9k rears for awhile and I don't feel like repeating the experience any time soon.
