GT86 2014
today i test drove the toyota GT86. and i did fit really nicely into it. first small sports car from japan that fits me nicely. talked with the dealer managed to drop the price a bit under listing. white pearl with red/black interior incoming in September sometimes. final price after the generous deal was 288 900 SEK org asking price is 313 300 SEK with the white pearl. they come fullyloaded here with led front lights start button, navigation, frameless center mirror, automatic folding side mirrors etc.
also according to the dealer next year version is going to have a different wing as a option and 210 hp instead of 200. but also a tad more expensive. dollar is 6,7 right now. so those prices would be 46,761 USD down to 43,119 USD... damn sometimes i wish i lived in the states instead of sweden.. :sigh: |
Holy crap... 43k!? I just got mine for 27k with an eight year 100,000k mile bumper to bumper extra warranty...

being a car guy im living in the wrong country :-( the good thing about dollar being so cheap now its that my pay seams huge... 62388 USD/year... tho welcome to socialst sweden. 20k of that would be taxes.. (and another 20k that the company pays..) but then again maybe its not that great. looking at mtv cribs you guys seam to do alright over the pond :bonk: |
I bet you can buy it in the states and have shipped instead maybe cheaper.

I wouldn't worry too much, by the sounds of it you are getting a GT86 Limited equivalent and the price sounds about right when directly converting from Japan to USD but that isn't accurate, there are other factors that change price. Here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8954 That is a list of differences between the Scion and the GT86 Limited I made up a while back and keep updating as I find things. You are getting quite a bit more than the Scion offers for the price point you are paying. In fact, I envy you. I would give anything to be able to purchase a Toyota GT86 Limited over a Scion FR-S any day. EDIT: I personally like the red interior, reminds me of my Celica's blue interior: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/SNC00101.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...a/SNC00102.jpg |

Also, I feel your pain, I made 81k last year and even with all the tax write offs from being a father and claiming head of household, I still paid near 20k in taxes. But still man, jeez that is rough. I do have to say though, I was planning to rebadge my FR-S to toyota emblems, but then I saw the above link which had the like 20 or so things you have to do to get it to a Toyota GT86 spec and I was like, "F**K all that noise... I'll take my base model FR-S with no push button start or crap like that... True Hachi Roku style!" |
Honestly, with how good the Sweden roads are...I'd be okay with paying 40k for that car.

The red interior is disgusting. I hear you on that. I'm not a fan of the Red pattern on the FRS seats but that is a matter of personal taste and doesn't mean those seats aren't good looking to many other people.
