Learning to do it consistently and automatically is one essential part of becoming a truly good driver. While the skills for balancing a car are commonly taught in drivers' schools, the rationale behind them is not usually adequately explained. That rationale comes from simple physics. Understanding the physics of driving not only helps one be a better driver, but increases one's enjoyment of driving as well. If you know the deep reasons why you ought to do certain things you will remember the things better and move faster toward complete internalization of the skills."

Almost a direct quote from my Officer qualification course instructor. Pretty much learning 101 really.

"I can't see my brake pads. Worst design ever."

"Wipe your ass every time you take a shit."

I'll also add:

understanding the physics is great, but do not overthink it.

I see lots of people tinkering with all these parts and asking for all types of opinions, but the more fundamental questions aren't asked such as "what about the car do you you want to change?"

The average car enthusiast spends very little time trying to understand the parts that their car came with, and all they want is to mod mod mod. That's problem number one. Once you understand why the car is the way it is, stock, then you'll make better modification decisions and racing decisions.
