2020 BRZ colors?
Has anyone seen anything from Subaru on the exterior color options that will be offered for the 2020 BRZ?
A few websites that have 'build' features, like autoblog and cars.com, don't show red as a color option for 2020. Is red really being discontinued for 2020? Thanks! |

I just went to the build page and red's still there..... heck the main Subaru.ca page shows a red BRZ when you select a car..... |
Canada and Japan are the only ones to release 2020 build sheets so far. Outside of that we just have information on the 2020 tS models. Pure Red is shown on Canada's build sheet FWIW.

They removed the silver colour though, and dark grey metallic is now "magnetite grey metallic". |

The 2020 BRZ page is up on Subaru’s website. From the builder it does look like the red color option is gone now, atleast in the US. As a red twin owner I’m pretty disappointed, but I wasn’t planning on buying another twin until second-gen, hopefully red will be back by then. If not I’m gonna be pissed!

Yes, it's true, red is gone for 2020, at least in the US. The only 'color' left is WR Blue. Everything else is black, white, the other white, silver, grey, or the other grey. In other words, the colors of asphalt road surface.
Most manufacturers seem to be going this way. Offering colors that match the road. Is the goal to make cars invisible? To blend into the road? I came of age and fell in love with cars in the 1960's (yeah, I'm old), a time when cars came in real colors. All sorts of shades of reds, greens, blues, yellow, you name it. They were beautiful. Tasco Turquoise on the Corvette, Smyrna Green on Porsches, Poppy Red on Fords. Anything but boring road surface colors. I miss those colors. It made cars so much more fun. |
