Looking for flush fitment

Hello,

I am wanting to fix my 2015 BRZ's horrible factory fitment.

I have Tein Flex Z Coilovers waiting to be installed for whenever I get my new wheels/tires.

Some wheels I'm looking at are,

Avid AV20 18x9.5 +38
https://www.nlmotoring.com/AVID-1-AV...18955c38bk.htm

or

ESR SR08 18x9.5 +35
https://esrwheels.com/collections/sr...29455253831798

Can I achieve flush fitment with either of these wheels? or what wheel specs should I look for to get flush fitment?

I'm NOT looking to poke nor am I looking to run some crazy camber. I'm just looking to lower the car an 1-1.5 inches.

Thanks!

First, if you wanna flush fitment, you need different offset for front and rear or need extra spacers at the rear.

Secondly, not sure why you need 9.5 width... that'll push you into 265~285 width tires that our car can't even use.

Lastly, FR-S / BRZ Wheel Directory is good place to see the fitment.

9.5's all the way around is just what I've seen a lot of people use on fitment industries. So that's where I got that number from. If I can go smaller and save some money I'm all in lol. This is the first set of wheel/tires I've ever bought to where I actually care what it's going to look like so I don't have much experience in this department.

I will go check out the wheel directory again though! Looks like I might have to go with a different wheel than I was originally wanting to.

Flex Z are needed to dial in 18x9.5 wheels. You will want LCA for the rear too. (needed for rear camber adjustment)

The offsets you have chosen are only 3mm difference. You will need -2.5 camber possibly -3 front and rear. The front will poke a bit without that much camber.

I would suggest a 245/35/18 tire. You could run a 255/35/18 with the right tires and LCA.

I'm running 18x9.5 +38 with 245/35/18s and it's essentially flush-- I'm on HKS Hipermax GT coilovers. (Lowered ~2 inches) The top of the tire is flush with the fender and the bottom of the tire pokes just a tiny bit because of the negative camber I have. I will bump up to 255/35s next time around but you definitely do NOT need 265+ on 9.5 wide wheels. Especially for daily driving.

18x9.5 +38 is a proven fitment to work well with coilovers-- 245/35s fit easily and 255/35s typically do as well. 265s are on the meatier side and might require further adjustments like LCAs or a slight fender pull.

I was contemplating new wheels to improve the look/stance...as a stopgap I installed 20mm/25mm spacers. And, I couldn't believe the difference they've made to the car.. stopped looking for new wheels.

I was thinking about spacers a while ago but then I heard that it's not necessarily all that great of an idea because it causes you to wear your wheel bearings faster.

If that's what a 2in drop is that's what I'll be aiming for at least. Your fitment looks great! Do you have an Instagram or somewhere I can go to find some more pictures?

I wouldn't mind running a little bit of camber. I'm just not looking for that stance look.

I also don't plan on running 265 tires. I would probably only run a 235 or a 245.

Unless you are putting inches of spacers(like the brodozer trucks are running) on don't worry about it. It's no more harm than installing a wheel with lower offset.
A lot people in here are using between 5mm and 25mm spacers with no issue.

If spacers on thicker side, suggesting to use bolton type instead of slip on ones. Or at least install also extended studs.

Yeah man, my instagram is lord.walker86 for car pics-- the only camber I'm running is the natural camber you get from lowering your car :party0030:

What I don't get is how is this car flush, with 17x8 +35 wheels
https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wh...d1-av20-eibach

While this car with 18x9.5+35 is also flush,

Camber is the answer.

Less camber is needed on an 8" wheel to get it flush. None really Infact. Natural camber from lowering springs is often enough. Camber bolts on the front for an extra 1°-1.5° if wanted.

Coils are needed on a 9.5" to clear the strut. Top hats also allow to dial in more camber to tuck the wheel into the fender.

A local has the same wheel specs with 265 squared and no rubbing. That's too much tire for NA, and that combo is heavy as shit.

Yeah I only plan only running either a 235/40/18 or 245/40/18.
