White Spots on front bumper and hood...
5 Attachment(s)
How can I remove these annoying white spots on the front of my car?! I've tried everything that they are smooth to the touch (i.e. I do the fingernail test and there is not 'clicking' sound when running the nail over the spot. They are not bugs either as I 95% of the time remove them within a reasonable time before any paint damage can be done from them. I just can't figure it out and don't know what to do. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!:D

What's your detailing process? Did you wax it recently?
It looks like wax stuck in stone chips. |
Looks like @soundman98 called it. If so it looks like something like this is what you need to do after you remove the wax: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rxBEPVmgOo[/ame]
Or if it is just into the clearcoat, maybe they make a clearcoat only version instead of the color to fill in the chips? |
Maybe use Dawn soap to remove the wax then use a clay bar to remove any stuff imbedded in the clear coat - then see what it looks like.
If it looks good, then, just wax it, if not - :iono: humfrz |
most likely going to need to use a nylon bristle brush(a tooth brush might be the best because of softness) to get into each spot to remove the wax.

Thanks for the responses! I'll give them a try!

as humfrz said, you'll need to start from 'raw' paint, clay it, and then use a buffer with something like wolfgang uber compound, followed by a finishing glaze. i'd use a light-cutting pad--my go-to is white per the lake country ccs line, though orange wouldn't be a bad choice either.
just be sure not to burn through the plastic! it heats up quicker! |
