I'll delete it when I replace the intake, unless it gets infected and needs surgery it will stay until then.

Ok, science nerd in me is begging to explain the past and possible present function of the appendix. Sorry if you were merely kidding ;)

Before we evolved into ominvores, the human appendix was home to the bacteria that helped in the digestion of a high-veggie diet. Since we are ominvores now, that function has largely gone away, but some biologists are suggestion that it can function as a part of the immune system now, or as a safe haven for the good bacteria in your gut when you get a gastrointestinal infection (like when you get bad diarrhea.) I pulled most of this info from Wikipedia.

There, now we all learned something new today, and it wasn't car-related for once! :happyanim:

I just order the perrin CIA and the inlet hose, i just read that this will remove the sound tube. However, i got used to the sound already to shift gears and stuff... would this be a problem?

I mean i have a n1 catback and catless front pipe so it's loud already... Plus would i be able to hear the CIA sound from inside the cabin to help me with my shifting??

Here is why:

1. It adds 3db!

2. It does not add sound I enjoy.

3. It adds ugly tubes under the hood.

4. I ran 2awg wire for my amp through the hole.

prove to me that the sound tube adds horsepower.....

Just for the manufacturer's joy!
Removing it will void warranty!

Such is the life of a thread on FT86 Club.

All sign a DNR (do not resuscitate) clause, but for some reason or another, people refuse to follow the thread's wishes.

Think it's time for me to go to sleep...

Well, first off, you are quoting a post that I made a year and a half ago, so forgive me if I don't have the source at my fingertips. But I believe this is the case, since removing the sound tube changes the flow of the air going into the engine. Just repeating what I heard, I could be wrong, but then again I don't really give a sh*t, lol

It's worse than you thought, "08-03-2012". I'm not sure if that's the american month day year way, or the right way of day month year. But at this point, either way I think that's close enough to call it four years ago. :bonk:

If he had asked his perfectly reasonable question in a new thread he would have got flamed to death for starting a thread and not searching.

So instead he does what everybody screams about and searches but did not find the answer to his specific question so he asked.

I fail to see the error in his actions. In fact I applaud them!

Jeebus, you're right. I misread 2014 instead of 2012. I'm even more forgetful than I thought. :bonk:

Don't sweat it. The increased sound from the intake will more than make up for the sound tube delete.

Not going to go hunting for it but someplace on here there is a thread that proved the sound tube has zero impact on power. It is literally just a noise maker. That info would not have been available back in your younger days of 2012.
