That is actually my biggest fear in taking a replacement on this car. I haven't made up my mind 100% because of that. My engine runs fine. I don't want to get the car replaced and have engine problems.

Take the new car, some cars are not getting the issue until later in life so the fact that you don't have it now does not mean you will not get it in the future.

Same here, I just got confirmation that my new replacement FRS is in the dealership, they are doing PDI on it right now, I'm actually concerned about driving this car now even though it's new. I feel like after reading the forums, I've found out so much more problems with the car, but we'll see!

Yuck, you had the engine issue to cause the replacement correct? How long did it take the car to come?

Dropped the car off on 8/13. So the car came in today, so two weeks roughly?

Tanuki 08-28-2012 01:46 PM

Wow. I am guessing it wasn't ordered in then?
Where did it come from?

Yuck 08-28-2012 03:18 PM

Tanuki,

It was ordered in actually, it landed in the Port of SF on the 23rd, took a few days to get it to the dealership though...but my name was on the batch of cars that came in. I believe my FRS and three others are along this batch of cars.

Wow that would be insane if the new car came that quickly.

Well Toyota has gone even further for me. Today I got this in the mail as a way to let me know they are concerned about me in regards to the car ordeal. Pretty neat little RC car, even though I really don't do RC cars, it still is cool to look at.

I had some extra 3M Carbon Vinyl in the garage, so I decided to wrap the trunk, roof, and hood. Who knows, maybe they make te37's I can throw on later too?

I appreciate them sending this. It shows that they really want to take care of me.

Tanuki,

Man you got hooked up with all the RC cars dude. So I got my car yesterday and so far it's fine, the only thing they threw in for me was a set of FRS earphones...haha.

Tried to talk about some sort of compensation, they said me getting an FRS in two weeks was tough enough, but they would give me an five year warranty at dealer price if I wanted it.

jadewbj 08-29-2012 11:47 AM

So you will have 3 FR-S! Nice!!!!

I will trade you my RC car for your 5 year warranty, deal?

It sounds like they are trying to help you out though. 2 weeks is pretty impressive.

BlaineWasHere 08-29-2012 11:51 AM

I'm glad you got this sorted out!

I suppose, but also driving two weeks of an car that I didn't purchase was pretty lame, but at least I wasn't putting miles on my own car. I'm still going to talk to the finance manager and sales manager to see if they can work out an really good deal on the warranty.
