hubcentric ring size problem
 

i recently purchase a new set of rings as my aluminum one are wearing off.
the problem i have is that the plastic ones are stupid thick compare to the ones i have ... can't seem to find the ones with the right size..
any help on where to purchase the aluminum ...

This is assuming you need 73.1 to 56.1 below. Most aftermarket are 73.1mm.

Also, "wearing off"? I have a set that's been on a car for almost 20 years. Make sure you are tightening to the 89 ft/lb when putting it back on. Thinking about it, maybe you actually had the wrong size on there to begin with. What wheels do you have on there? The only way they should wear is if the lugs aren't fully tightened and those rings are too small to center the wheel on the hub correctly.

the plastic ones are 73 to 56. and the same for the aluminum. i ran rpf1 and 57cr with those aluminum hub rings and the fit perfectly. but when i try to put the plastic one its too thick to fit into the hub of the rims.

There's no way both of those are the same size... the plastic ones are definitely the wrong size.

+1. They look of different size. And if they were sold as supposedly being same sized, i'd measure real size of bought rings and complain to seller.

Your plastic one looks like it's correct, the aluminum one that you said fit looks wrong. Here is a 73.1 to 56.1 in both aluminum and plastic. Your aluminum one looks off, it doesn't match the size of these two and they are for sure the right size.

CSG sell them. Both 73-56 and 65-56.

if the aluminum ring fits perfectly-- what do you mean when you say that it's wearing out? were they damaged somehow?

may want to double check what size hub bore your wheels actually are as it does not sound like they are 73

I'm ordering wheels with a hub bore of 73mm. Now just need lug nuts and rings. Seems like hub centric rings are more common in the 73.1 size and I'm sure that .1 makes a difference. Should I go with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/NB-AERO-Alumi...%2C168&sr=8-15

or are the ones from CSG at $10 a pop worth it? Any links to other recommended rings? Kinda dumb, but this is my first set of aftermarket wheels. Thanks everyone.

Just dont put hub centric rings, unless your wheels have a flat bolt face (which I cant remember how many years ago was the last time I saw that) you dont need them. Its a waste of money and time.

Thanks. I’ve just heard of people having vibrations or something after installing certain aftermarket wheels. I’ll just throw them on and if I’m having issues then it’s just like a $10 fix
