The Florida flags of the past 70+ years were specifically chosen to commemorate a racist, traitorous, murderous, evil past. They are symbols of white supremacy.

Confederate monuments are not reminders of the horrible past in order to avoid repeating them. They are glorifications of a racist, traitorous, murderous, evil past. It's like building a glorious statue of Hitler and saying that it's just a reminder of German history. There's a reason Germany abandoned the Nazi flag. If they readopted it, it would not be a sign of pride over being German. It would be a sign of Nazi beliefs.

We're closer on the whole issue than you probably think we are. My only point is there are good and bad people everywhere, it has no geographic bounds, and it may not be the same issue but there are issues. Probably always will be, but it has improved, it ebbs and flows but it improves.

I agree with this. Of course there are good and bad people everywhere. There are plenty of conservative people in California, and I'm friends with a few of them.

I use facts that are relevant to the subject yes. The rest of the write up does not counter that the original flag design was used by the groups that sided with the south.

My views of some of these issues, as an outsider, keep getting deleted.

Wait don’t you know that if you live in a state that ever had a racist then you are automatically a racist?
