Pinhole Weld on new Invidia R400
Received and installed my R400 last night and when checking for exhaust leaks I noticed there was a small pinhole weld between the muffler pipe and the connector for the mid pipe of the cat back. It was spraying gas and moisture out of it once the car was started.
I emailed FT86SpeedFactory about it, but I'm not sure what they could do about it without needing me to take it off the car and ship it back which would be costly. Should I just take it to a muffler shop and have them spot weld it on a lift? https://i.imgur.com/X3RfEpR.png |
Given that due size & weight it will cost a lot to ship forth & back to fix and take more time with car undriveable, i'd probably rather choose local shop for quick fix, even if there is warranty due it being recently bought new.

Yeah just take it to any exhaust shop to have them fix it and then see if they can pressure test it.

NO, the vendor needs to make this right. You need to request them to fix it. They pay for shipping both ways if need be. If they have no ideas...suggest a local exhaust shop fixes it and they reimburse you. Hold the vendor accountable.

i would drop by a local shop and have they bump it with the welder. no reason to make a big deal out of it.
