P2158 Speed Sensor

So recently some repairs were done to my brz and after everything was buttoned up, I went for a test drive and the CEL, Traction, and ABS lights all came on and the car went into limp mode. Scanned the car and I got the code P2158 speed sensor. Visually inspected all of them and found no damage so i took the car to the dealer :(. After they inspected the car they said that they all four speed sensors went out and they think that replacing all of them MIGHT fix the problem for the cheap price of $1500 :bonk: . I would like to know if anybody may know if replacing the speed sensors would fix the problem before I spend $500 on buying all four.

All 4 went out at the same time..... unlikely! They are just covering their bases so when another one goes out in a week you are not pissed at them and want warranty for the “Same Problem”.

Exactly what I was thinking, is there any way to pin point which exact sensor it is so I can replace it?

Sometimes if the mechanics want to go on a McDonalds run or something they unplug the odometer so the customer doesn't know they took a long test drive after the repairs. If they forget to plug it back in...

It is just an inductive pick up, probably can ohm them out and replace the one that is different. If not it is going to be by trial and error. Probably another reason the dealer just wants to change out all of them.
