Vland headlights question
I have a 2019 full led model, seller says that Vland headlights are full led, can you please confirm it? Thanks!
|
I use their OEM 2017 lookalike with pulsing turn indicators. It is LED
My bad, I spoke about taillights. Just realised based on the below post Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk |
Be aware that the VLand light output is absolutely horrible and they only allow H7 bulbs. Any changing of the bulb will require a custom retrofit. It looks cool though, so more power to you if you don't care about the light output!

Many thanks, that's was my doubt. I had experience with chinese/taiwanese headlights and they usaually are awful...

You should be running them with a D2S bulb. His feedback is positive on light output. Some adjustment may be in order. Overall quality is on par with the cost. They're inexpensive headlights. He mentioned having issues with the turn indicator flickering on and off at times. Possibly a ground issue, or some internal wiring short. |

Also, I'll be running the OLM vertical DRLs. What brightness should I buy to match the color? 5k, 6k?

The factory D4s uses a different housing yes. D4S harness is different from a D2S system, so a D2S bulb won't work on a D4S harness. They are not electrically compatible. More info if you're curious https://kensun.com/blogs/news/factory-hid-bulb-types https://i.imgur.com/neXnhqo.jpg My friend is telling me the D2S housing fit just fine in Vland's headlight. h7 housing looks to be different from a D2S housing. It's possible he bought aftermarket D2 bulbs which had adapters for a H7 housing or Vland built in notches for both. I cannot confirm that. He doesn't know much about bulbs to give me info I can source. https://www.theretrofitsource.com/bl...01/bulbs-3.png |
The OEM BRZ headlights are HID.
I believe the kit comes with harness adapters for FRS, BRZ, old and new, but I didn’t know if I need to buy new bulbs or if the stock bulbs work. From what others say, the housing on the VLand headlights fits H7 which is halogen or D2S bulbs which is Xenon/HID—not the OEM bulbs. Well, maybe OEM for the FRS. I just want to confirm before I try to install these. |

I think you'll be ok. The green retaining ring on the Vland lights has various little tabs so I think will probably work with both D4S and D2S.
|
I know it's only been 2 weeks but just curious as to whether you got the d4s bulb and ballast to fit?

I will be picking up the bumper this Friday and starting to assemble the bumper/headlights this Saturday. I'll make an update by Monday if you check my build. I'll try to remember to comment here too. |
