2014 BRZ bluetooth audio no sound but has call
 

I got a stock head unit FA632US and for some reason bluetooth connects but youtube or any audio does not pass through to bluetooth other than phone calls.


I can even see youtube video name and length of video on the head unit, but the sound just doesn't come out of the car. I have erased the bluetooth setting in the head unit and on my phone but doesn't seem to work.


I never updated the head unit and my phone is a Pixel 2XL.


has anyone know why the audio does not go through bluetooth but phone call does?

have you tried restarting the phone?

Restarted my phone and it works! But I can't keep restarting the phone every time bluetooth doesn't work. Since it looks like it's a phone problem, I went ahead and googled it and it looks like it's a common problem with my phone. But it doesn't look like there's a catch all solution to this problem.

Sometimes turning bluetooth off and on in the menu can also jitter it enough to start working.
