Question for owners of catless cars
When you guys refuel, do you smell fumes for a minute or two when leaving the station?
I've been catless/tuned for a few years now, and I've noticed that after refueling, doesn't even have to be a full tank, I get a gas smell in the cabin for a short period of time. It'll last for a mile or two and once cleared by dropping the windows it doesn't come back. Any thoughts on this? Normal operation? |

Never

If you are over filling or if the pump is leaking on the way out you could end up with fuel in your evap canister

my parents with their suburban, and a family friend with a dodge dakota had this happen with the exact same symptoms-- every fillup, there would be a gas smell inside.
both of them were an issue with the filler neck connection at the gas tank--so filling was when it would seep past. in those 2 situations, the seal had rotted out and needed replacement, in a car this new, it should be a misalignment. |
