Tomei branding on overpipe
 

Just got my tomei over pipe from 86speed and it had a different stamp branding on the flange but all the hardware and instructions is tomei? Anyone else had the same thing, forgot to take a pic of the name on the overpipe flange. Will take pics soon.

You get what you pay for when you buy from a brand like Tomei in the USA, that's all I can say...

My OP has Tomei on it.. Seems pretty weird.

Yeah Expreme has all the instructions gaskets bolts, nuts, studs and thread paste tube, stickers, just the pipe itself on the flange part usually TOMEI is engraved. There's a different branding name on it, looks identical.

Well when you get home, take a picture of what it says.

Otherwise, might be fraud on part of 86speed. Maybe generic manufacturer slip-up and sent the wrong company the wrong lot. Or someone bought a Tomei from 86speed, swapped it with eBay one, and returned it. Whatever the case, 86speed should honor the return if you did not get what you ordered. :iono:

Tomei and Tomei USA are not the same. You may have a Tomei USA part that is also rebranded as other parts. There was a big and comical thread about it a while ago started by a JDM fanboi.

Yeah found out it’s tomei usa. Something about it from USA and not from Tomei japan.

If you care whether it's from Tomei Powered USA or Tomei Japan is up to you. Pretty hard to mess up an overpipe

This is just Tomei USA moving away from (or unable to use) actual Tomei branding on parts where they have overlap with Tomei Japan on sourcing from the same factory. The part is still the same, the factory just can’t ship Tomei flanged products to USA anymore.

Probably branded RSE or even just the SSI logo is on the flange, and the overpipe is packaged with US Tomei packaging.

Man good thing I completed my full tomei exhaust system years ago :)

It’s all still produced by the same factory and imported by the same company. Does it make that big of a difference?
