The FR-S Phenomena
 

The other day while I was looking for a good shady parking spot, a guy ran out of a restaurant with his drink still in his hand, eager to greet me. Apparently this was the first time he saw an FR-S in person and was EXTREMELY excited. My wife was with me and told me she was going to stick a pin in my head to deflate my ego.

This is crazy. I'm starting to think that this is much more than just a new car on the market. Everybody loves this car. It's nuts. I've never experienced anything like this before. You?

Wrong section for this, I think..... but I experienced this on a similar level, maybe a little less, in my Nismo 370Z.

I get a lot of people at gas stations saying one of two things:

1 - wow what kind of car is that??? It looks beautiful!! (people assume it is some expensive exotic I think)

2 - Nice FR-S man, I love that car!

what is funny is when you are at a track with lambos and ferraris and people go out of their way to take pics of your 25k car

Had a guy at a gas station ask me if my BRZ was the new WRX...LOL!

I have an Exige S and I get comments from mostly non-car people. With the FR-S, I'm getting a lot of attentions from car guys because they heard so much about this car but have never seen one before.

Similar experiences the first year(s) the RX-8 came out. People hanging out side windows (in the rain lol) to give thumbs up, rolling down widows at red lights to yell, "Nice car!" etc.

It faded in time, though the rare rotary fan will still come over and chat with me at gas stations (etc.) now and then.

You cars are pretty rare though, so you might have to get used to the attention :)

On a daily basis! ... I was just at a gas station and this guy loved my car. First time he saw one... FRSlove <3

Ja, the RX-8 still get's great comments even after 8 years so...
get used to it or sell it.

I have this exact same experience with my MR-S Hardtop when at race tracks or car shows. But then I am one of the guys who is walking up to the FR-S or BRZ owners and complimenting them on their choice of cars! I just appreciate the cars for what they represent and the drivers for being enthusiast (most of them anyway).

I would definitely give you a thumbs up if I see your MR-S Hardtop. Love that car :thumbup:

I get people coming up to me all the time...I even had a guy chase me down in a Civic after i passed going the other way so he could ask how I liked it...

i've noticed many drivers on the freeway during rush hour turn their heads to look at my car as they pass me by...always afraid they're going to hit the car in front of them lol Makes me want to say "hey, eyes on the road, not on my car"

A few days ago, I've had 2 guys in a white service van honk at me on the 5 to get me to turn my window down so they can ask me about the car. THis Monday, got 2 bikers in Harleys ask me at a stop light how I like my car
