Hella Supertones.

I took my Hellas off my STi, since they were a valentine's day gift from my girlfriend back in...'08? I want to put them on the FR-S, but after fully checking one out at the dealership yesterday...I couldn't find a place to mount them. Has anyone found any good locations for them yet?

Wasn't sure where to post this, since it has to do with an FR-S and the body style in the front is different, I figured I shouldn't mix it with the BRZ's in the electrical/exterior mod forums. :)

Are you thinking PIAA's? Hella is a horn and in no way affects the aerodynamics.

And after looking at this pic....

it looks like theres the standard cross bar that runs the width of the front of the car (the air box mounts to it), it's just covered by the front bumper. Would they be able to mount to that? They wouldn't really be visible but they'd be in there.

Yes, I was thinking of Hella lights. The OEM horn is terrible. Maybe there is space underside?

You might just have to go with the OEM horn location, a grill spot like on your STI isnt feasible here.

This isn't a rally car... I don't think those belong on this car at all.

Supertones = horns, not lights.

I'm happy with the stock horn. It's lower than I thought it would be,

You could always fabricate a basic mount that sits just behind or just below the crash bar. That's what I had to do with my Echo.... When the bumper cover is on, you can't see the horns at all, but all the sound is still there! :lol:

Sorry for the blurry pic...I was in a rush to finish my HID project and didn't take the time to grab a real camera, but I think you get the idea

The look was a big part of the horns for me, since I had a black/red theme going on, but no deal if I can't make them visible. I just want them on my car somehow, haha.

As you can tell, it was much easier to mount visibly on the STi.

good post. I was interested in swapping the OEM horn too. Anyone care to do a DIY guide?

Just saw this tonight in the DIY section and thought of your question.
