Tornado Grey or Storm Black

Hard to decide between these two colours. I ordered a Black one but I've seen a Tornado grey and it looks very good.

I want to go for the stealth look: black headlights, black taillights too (only the casing on both)

What you guys think? I am well aware of the dificulties to maintain a black car, although I've never owned one.
:sigh:

It is your car; I think you should decide for your self.

If you had owned a black car you wouldn't be asking this question... unfun...
if it was just cleaning the black regularly you could deal with it but it is so easy to put swirls and scratches in the paint even when taking the utmost care...

I ordered a car in orange but changed it to gray for stealth :), with gray it shows the lines of the car in photos and in person it also highlights the black parts on the car. My car is going to get the 'Initial D' treatment i.e. panda look (in black or silver vinyl), so I say get black so you don't have a gray car like me lol.

I got a Torando Grey and I am glad I went with it...Normally darker colours will hide the lines of the car however having a metallic flake when the sun hits the car it actually shows of the lines.

I got pics here of mine to give you an idea of how it looks.

I ordered grey although haven't got it yet as the black looked like it hid the cars curves like Cappuccino said and it's hard to keep clean.

These photos convinced me I made the right decision especially as I have gone the NZ full TRD version that has black wheels. It seems a very dark grey but still shows the curves.

Especially when the light hits it. I reckon it's the best colour for the 86 not so boy racer as the orange or red. But that's just my opinion.

i was wondering if I would still have the swirls if I Opti-Coat? I would hate seeing swirls and everything on it.

Hawk77FT 08-02-2012 10:38 AM

I guess I could change the colour with the dealer?

nix 08-02-2012 11:18 AM

Silver IMO. Grey is too speckley in direct light and black has nothing going on + hard to clean.

Fletchlives78 08-03-2012 10:36 AM

The one I test drove was black, and it was totaly awesome. I got grey for the keeping it clean factor. But there are many black cars out there so im sure with a bit of effort u can manage.
