Rear toe cam bolt seized?
Wondering if anyone has experience or suggestions for this?
Tried to get an alignment and long story short the shop stopped it early afraid they would break the rear toe cam bolt, saying it is seized in the metal collar. (the bolt most inboard to the car, furthest from the wheel where the toe adjustment is made) They are quoting me around $420USD to get things fixed, parts and labour. Now I got my car up and managed to get the nut off and can rotate the cam bolt a bit, maybe 30 degrees before it feels like im forcing it (which I assume is less than it should be able to be rotated although ive never messed with this bolt before) However, neither will back out at all, was wondering if anybody has any suggestions. Have tried PB blasting it and using a hammer from the other side but its hard to get any power with the rest of the suspension so close. Hoping to get things un-stuck so the bolt can rotate and I can finally get things aligned, save me a fair bit of money and a week or two getting replacement parts. |
