PTuning's 4-1 Race Header

PTuning claims that the header alone will net +40WHP. Any truth to this?

The rep said the car dyno'd was completely stock besides the header. Chart certainly does show +40 WHP.

It's hard to believe that a just a header with an ecutek tune can net 200WHP. Any truth to this? I am very interested after seeing these charts.

Where's the baseline? Can't claim gains without same dyno, same car... Ideally same day.

All top end gains, which is expected in a race header. Not out of the realm of possibility, but not all cars will manage I'd guess.

I mean, Ace350 showed 61ft/lb max gain on e85... Similar peak power on CA91 as this dyno, but much better gains lower on the band.

A number is meaningless without a baseline. Just Header + tune I highly doubt any would
get +40 whp not even ace. Ace + E85 + tune is 40whp peak. Like 165whp to 205whp, most headers I see claiming 200whp don’t show baseline bcs it was a 170+whp baseline. Like openflash header claiming 200whp at least showed baseline but it was 176whp. Or are maybe also running E85 without mentioning fuel.
I will say though Ptuning is probably in the top 2-3 headers for peak top end numbers. I just don’t see more then a 20% increase over baseline from header/tune with 91-93 gas.

There is a group buy going on for this header. MSRP is $1250 but the person is saying that if there are at least 15 people who are interested, he can get it for $1050 each. What do you guys think? Is it worth it?

Hmm. This plus the Edelbrock blower?

What's your intended use?

For me, not worth it. Ace350 would still be my choice.

Remember to include tune and related hardware/licensing.

Delta is important but will not translate to a higher than usual baseline. 200 whp give or take is the limit right now.

The header by itself will net you 10-12WHP without a dyno tune. On our dyno we see about 160WHP on a bone stock car. We don't use any sort of correction factor with our dyno. The Dyno Dynamics dyno we use reads roughly 10% lower than a dynojet.

Here’s their original thread where they posted the dynosheet with stock baseline vs the header untuned vs tuned header, as well as a bunch of more sheets.

Thanks James, how are you enjoying the PTUNING header on your tS?
