Which lowering springs for tS dampers?

I'm thinking of replacing my Perfomance Pack dampers with tS ones, as I find them too soft, but I haven't found any lowering springs that match the damping rate.
I.E. JDM STi do not fit, US STi springs do not fit, Eibach do not fit...

rce yellow would be fine? i wasn't too happy with them and ended up with their SS1 coilovers though. lowering springs never feel quite "right" unless you have some smooooth roads.

You want lowering springs with the same spring rate?

Eibach has the closest that i know of. or maybe H&R?

gpvecchi 05-30-2019 12:48 AM

H&R quality is not that much, and Eibach are not compatible. I'd like to stay on a similar to stick spring rate. I'm actually happy with JDM STi springs, but damper rate is too soft for my taste.

Why not bigger sway bars?

What type of handling characteristics are you looking for?

Not to threadjack, but I just purchased the PP Sachs and springs yesterday and also would like some lowering springs. I daily my FRS and do some canyon drivng as often as time allows. Looking for a more planted feel and less of a wheel gap without going to coils. Would you recommend the RCE Yellows or Tarmacs?

What do you mean "JDM STi do not fit, US STi springs do not fit", they don't "fit" your lowering needs?
I just received the US tS suspension (STI pink springs 20380CA260/270- Sachs tS dampers 20310CA240/250 & 20365CA220) the tS comes from the factory, of course they aren't lowering springs but they mate perfectly!

JIM THEO, we already talked of this, you want stock springs, I want lowered springs. STi parts are aftermarkets, they are lowered and they are produced for JDM (-15 mm) and US (-10 mm) market and are not compatible for tS shocks. They have nothing to do with stock springs. But they can't be fitted to tS models because of different damping rate.

Anyway, please close the thread, we are going out of the question.

Understood, you mention STI springs and as OEM tS springs are made by STI I thought you meant those springs.

Short answer, it depends but the Yellows are probably better for you. Feel free to PM me for more info. :)

No one is going to make a spring specifically for the tS shocks if that's what you're looking for.

I suspect you'd be happy with the STi parts.

By the way I don't think "upgrade" pink STI springs for the BRZ are incompatible with the tS dampers due to damping rates as they are 50N front - 40N rear (https://www.nengun.com/sti/coil-springs) and much more close to the rates of the OEM tS pink springs.
Probably due to been lowering springs that Sachs dampers can't cope with!

Not compatible with STi/tS Sachs dampers
