OFT options for FI
 

ive serched and come across alot of information but i cant see what im looking for, alot of the information im looking for is lost in a 300 page post somewhere or is outdated information.

i have the OFT but recently bought a forced induction kit, obviously i need a tune. i dont want to spend another 600$ on the ecuteck despite it being one of the better routes. what are my options for the OFT? do any good tuners use the OFT?

If you've searched, you haven't searched much. Even some sites like ft86speedfactory offer OFT tunes for forced induction.

Shiv offers good e-tuning, but I don't know the best way of contacting him other than going to open flash's webpage https://www.openflashtablet.com/shop/custom-e-tuning/

By the way, the information isn't lost, it's stored. If you have a garage full of rare JDM high price 1-off parts, is the part you're looking for lost in there, or is it just hidden with the rest of the good stuff?

Depends on the current year. If it was 1745 I'd say it was in storage, you could still retrieve it.

i would use and used successfully OFT only for superchargers
turbochargers would be better ecutek for boost control and fsilsafe features

Sell it, V1 go for about 350$ and V2 for about 400$ and put morning toward Ecutek.

You'll get a better quality tune not only because the product is better offering many more features, but also because there are far more experienced tuners willing to tune that platform.

Pretty much for OFT your stuck having openflash tune you and they will take months. For my NA tune they took 7 revisions at 3+ weeks a revision. Final tune was fine, just took forever.

but why spend thousands on a FI kit to skimp a few hundred on one of the most important pieces to insuring not only maximum performance, but more importantly longevity and reliability?

Also a much better option if you ever plan on Flexfuel/E85 or especially WMI.

7 revisions?! wow, how long ago was that? on their website it says their using a new different procedure to help get their E tune customers a better experience.

well thank you, i had no idea ft86 had that feature with the openflash. ill check prices with them. open flash is 275$ for a base map with the mods listed then im required to send data logs and theyll tune from there i guess, i just hope the base map is close cause im worried it'll run terrible or lean.

It in. 7 revisions isn’t really that many. A year ago. Half way through they switched to an online scheduling procedure, that still took 3 weeks.

Base maps are generally really conservative. Little timing and lots of fuel. And then they dial in the fuel to desired AFR and then dial in the timing until slight knock then pull back. Other things involved but essentially how they can safely etune
