IS this a good price for a 2018 BRZ?
I was going to post in the price paid, but I'm currently looking to get a 2018 BRZ w/ performance package.
I was quoted 27600 OTD. I checked out the car and there was a pretty big paint chip gash on the front bumper and also more paint chips (pretty big) close to where the license plate would be. It looks like it was damaged when it was taken off the truck? I'm not really happy about the paint chips on a new car. I was wondering if I should still buy it. The dealer is supposibly lowering the price $400. Originally they were asking 28k OTD. Should I ask for them to lowering the price more or look elsewhere? I noticed the cars been sitting on the lot for 250+ days. I'm guessing the paint chips are partially the reason:iono: I was hoping they would just get it fixed and then I'd check it out and go from there.. They're basically saying buy it as-is for 27600, or theyll fix it for 28000 OTD. I guess I'm just picky about how they're going to go about fixing it. Its a pretty big paint chips. I should of took pictures. |
i would look elsewhere.

I paid $28,000 OTD for my brand new 2018 PP in April. If there are any new 2018's still available, I'd get a different one. If not, take their offer of $28k OTD with the repairs.

just got a OTD quote for 25k out the door for a 2018 limited without PP, ended up with a 86 TRD for 28.5 OTD

I’d say that’s pretty high for a 2018 at this stage in the game, the 2020’s will be announced soon enough. But I definitely would chose 28000 with the repairs over 27600 without. It’ll likely cost you more than 400 to fix it. With that said, I wouldn’t expect it to be done well. I was looking at a 2017 in 2018 with a bunch of needed repairs that a new car should definitely not require, and after a few weeks of being told stuff was fixed, it wasn’t and then more damage occurred. Then I went and bought a tS elsewhere...
Best bet, find another, more honest dealer that doesn’t have damaged new cars. |

Is there a reason you're fixated on an '18?
You could attempt to make an agreement with them to purchase the car once it's repaired, but personally, i wouldn't trust a dealer that has sat on a damaged car that long to perform a quality repair |

cheaper has a cost, in this case, i expect it to be the dealer that you must deal with.
personally, if getting a better deal is worth saving $2-4k, buying used is going to be the better option. but if color and options are more important, i would say buying a '19 is going to be the better option. i bought a '14, paying about $4-5k over what used '13's were going for at the time because getting what i wanted in the car was more important to me than getting a great deal. |
But a new one.. pass on this one. You can buy new 2018 left overs for cheaper than that.

I got my 2018 PP BRZ for 26.4 OTD after negotiations but it didn't have any damage apart from swirls from dealership cleaning, I'd look else where you can probably negotiate a 2019 honestly for around the same OTD price that dealer gave you elsewhere. Wouldn't settle for a damaged one for that price
I did leave my dealer tho when he didn't give me a decent price, came back and renegotiated it to my liking |
I bought my 2018 Limited PP over a year ago for 27.5K with port installed / dealer installed accessories.
I would search elsewhere. |
It has been my observation that any and all people that have come on this forum and asked this question have been told "No that price sucks keep looking".
The ONLY way to tell it is a good price in YOUR region is to check online and see what people are asking for them within a 500 mile radius or so. What is a good price in LA may be either a horrible or superb price in Buttfuk Kentucky. Prices vary by region based on supply and demand just like any other consumer product. |
I will have a 18 limited PP 5k miles silver ready soon, will be replacing the right rear quarter panel skin/bumper/tail light/trunk should be in the 18 to 19k range plus shipping to you around 1000 on shipping from CA
