Goo gone f***ed my life
 

So today my toy badge came and i went debadge the scion one, i took of the front badge and the goo is so hard to come off, i used alot of goo gone but the paint turned a bit yellowish now! i tried to wash it off but the paint is still ruined...
im really sad now.. maybe someone know how to fix it?

I'm really confused on how your paint turned yellow. I've used Goo Gone to debadge my Si, granted it was black, without issue. I did it to the other day on the FR-S badge and plan to do similar with the Scion ones once I get Toyota badges.

Are you completely sure it's not just the lighting? Can you get some closer pictures of where it starts/stops?

I dont see anything in that picture, I used Goo Gone on a friends white chevy cruze and have no issues, are you sure you used goo gone or goof off? If I remember correctly Goof Off will just eat your paint

Claybar. Goo Gone won't eat your paint. Like stated above - Goof off will screw you over.

Goo gone is not needed to remove residue after debadging...simple wax and some elbow grease will do it if the surface is warm.

it looks really yellowish in person, im pretty sure its not the lighting.
well the label says goo gone, i got it from canadian tire, the color of it is yellow tho.
i think i will try to clay it
does it make sense that iron x might be able to fix that?

hmm pretty sure goo gone is supposed to be orange.

mine looks a bit more yellowish, maybe because when i was doing it the sun was really bright

did you try soap and water? Maybe goo gone left a residue. I have used goo gone on my silver 04 toyota with no ill effects, 2 years running, in S. CA.

Weird, maybe it stained your clear coat for some reason, try polishing it out yet?

You shouldn't really "Goo" anything, it's really the wrong product to use for this sort of thing.
You can get Klean-Strip Prep-All at most auto parts stores or plain mineral spirits, or heck, you could even use WD-40 in a pinch. WD-40 is more for removing small amounts and will take forever to cut through the adhesive. Especially if there are gobs of it. I've used 3M Adhesive remover but that is a little more aggressive and I've had mixed results.
WD-40 probably the least aggressive and you probably have some on hand. It you're careful, after the badge is off, you can roll/rub the bulk of it off with your fingers and then use a mild solvent to treat, wait a about 30 seconds and wipe off with a microfiber towel. Rinse and repeat until clean.

The aforementioned solvents will not harm or discolor your clear coat. You'll just have to apply wax again.

As for a clay bar, I'd really be surprised if that would work.
This looks as if the clear has been discolored and may take something a little more aggressive to buff that out. If that's even possible at this point.
You'd really have to have a pro look at it to determine how deep it went before attempting something like that. I would suggest taking it to a professional paint shop or a high end boutique type detailer for some suggestions.

A little booger 101: (I know you have experience with this)Another little trick is if you can get a ball of the adhesive going with your fingers, you can use that ball to pick up more adhesive by pressing it into the stuck adhesive and pulling or rolling the ball across it.
