Faint hum/metallic grinding off throttle and turning right

Hi all,

First off, specs.

2013 BRZ, 95k (kilometers ;)), AT, the only modification are a K/N drop in air filter which has been in since 75k (kilometers) and DBA T2 slotted rotors . Also never been tracked, nor driven hard. Serviced regularly, however the shop I used recenlty actually used 10w30 oil.. not sure if this could be an issue.

When off the throttle, at speeds in excess of say 50 kph (circa 30 mph) I hear this faint hum or metallic grinding, which doesn't sound great. Although performance isn't impacted.

This to say that I can 'feel' the sound I am describing through the steering wheel and both pedals when it occurs. Here's the kicker, it gets slightly worse as speed increases and especially more pronounced when I turn right. In addtion, the vibration and noise, sort of, well, pulse when I am turning right at speeds over say 60/70 kph.

I will be taking it back into to shop in a few days to get them to have a look I just thought I'd see what you all may think!

I don't feel like it's an issue with the engine however it may be another part of the drivetrain? I also got a wheel alignment about 10 months ago if that helps.

I'll guess that you have a front brake caliper dragging - :iono:

It was the front left wheel bearing!

The Subaru dealer couldn't diagnose it at the shop so they said they had to give it to their chief mechanic to drive home to diagnose and low and behold it was the wheel bearing. Only made the noise above 50km/h roughly so no room to test it out in the city of Sydney.

They also said the MAF sensor was playing up and causing knock.

All fixed under warranty woohoo!
